  1. Rod Clark has been involved with him for a while, UT offered September 2023. Started out as an undersized 5 but has become more of a 4 who can now guard both positions. Sounds like he's a very good defensive player who can block shots and get steals.
  2. His agent probably had a PR person write that for him.
  3. Kenny Johnson is the lead. He was previously recruiting him for GT. He talks a lot about style of playing being one of the most important factors. Wants to play fast. The reason he wants to wait until next spring to commit is that he wants to have the opportunity to play immediately so he wants to see how teams look after the transfer cycle.
  4. Rod Clark is the lead. He was being recruited by Tennessee so there's probably already a relationship there.
  5. Eh, he'll probably be looking for another job in a year or two after Diebler gets fired. He probably would've been better off trying to get a job at a school with an established coach.
  6. Dushawn London of 247 says he doesn't expect him to commit until next spring. If that is correct, then IU has some time to make up ground.
  7. IU gets over $63M from the B1G in revenue money for 2024. A bit under $3M more than last year. The conference brought in more than $920M in revenue. This is more than the SEC, which distributed $52.5M to schools on $840M conference revenue. Both conferences are expected to exceed $1B for 2025. https://swimswam.com/big-ten-reports-928-million-in-revenue-distributes-63-million-to-members-in-2024/
  8. I don't know about Trilly, but Rabby is saying he's being told Wilkins is unlikely for IU. Duke and Maryland are involved and both still have plenty of NIL, I guess. Duke is Duke and Maryland has an assistant coach who played for Wilkins' AAU team.
  9. Adams, Clark, Johnson, and Norton will be the assistant coaches. Bargen will be a special assistant to the head coach and concentrate on the offense. I take that as kind of an offensive coordinator.
  10. These 2 articles seem to indicate he's thought to be a 2nd round pick. A couple of mocks I looked at had him in the 40s overall. https://www.si.com/nba/draft/newsfeed/nba-teams-should-consider-neoklis-avdalas-in-the-first-round-of-the-2025-nba-draft https://www.si.com/nba/draft/prospect-profiles/nba-draft-scouting-report-greece-neoklis-avdalas Of course, he could make more money next year in the NCAA than as a 2nd rounder in the NBA. A year in the NCAA could also boost his draft stock so he'd make more money from his first contract. He's been invited to the combine so I don't think he decides until after that.
  11. lol. Don't believe what you read in the Sacramento Bee. Woodson has been an NBA coach since 1996. He was head coach of the Atlanta Hawks (2004-10), New York Knicks (2012-14) and Indiana Pacers (2021-25). He has served as an assistant with the Milwaukee Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, 76ers, Detroit Pistons, Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers. https://archive.is/SQHvM
  12. If a player is willing to tell his coach and an assistant coach that they need to go to the handshake line, I'm sure there's plenty of leading teammates that we don't see.
  13. Tennessee isn't on Gaskins list, so it doesn't look like he was already recruiting him. https://247sports.com/recruitment/caleb-gaskins-159968/recruitinterests/ For Davion, Kenny Johnson is the lead recruiter and I also don't see UT on his list. I don't see GT on either list.
  14. That's probably a good way to take it. I feel there isn't really any reason to get one's hopes up at this point in the recruitment, which has just started. When it gets close to a commitment and IU is still in the mix? Maybe then would be a good time. Considering this guy is coming up on his senior season, IU is starting in quite a hole. I imagine in many of these initial recruitments it may be hard to get much traction and there is lots of ground to make up. NIL can help but with that being equal (or close to), then relationships will likely win out. That said, the line you're referring to is really just a fact giving one.
  15. He's getting paid NIL so they won't want to redshirt him. A player willing to redshirt would probably also have to be willing to take little to no NIL for that season.
  16. IU has offered 6'8' Caleb Gaskins from Miami, FL. 5*, 247 composite #12. I've seen him listed as a SF and a PF but his twitter account says G. 247 I don't know if this is behind a paywall or not: https://247sports.com/college/indiana/article/indiana-basketball-recruiting-5-star-class-of-2026-forward-caleb-gaskins-lands-indiana-scholarship-offer-christopher-columbus-nightrydas-249661794/
  17. I know this has happened in the past few years but I think some rules have been implemented since then to prevent it.
  18. Rabby says the belief is that the chances Leal actually gets another year is small. He doesn't say why that's the belief but I'm guessing it's due to the number of games played since he played 11 games that year. Goode is borderline at 10 games which is just over 30% but still less than 31%. 11 games would be well above 30%.
  19. I've tried to find out what the revenue sharing penalty is for the additional scholarships. Rabby doesn't answer what exactly it means when he's asked. Best I can find is that the revenue sharing is reduced by the amount of the scholarship, so, in effect, revenue sharing is used to pay for the scholarship. I don't know if that is correct but it's what I could find.
  20. He can help them buy a house with their NIL money.
  21. He's planning on visiting IU soon, probably some time this month. Rabby's description of his play: "Long and bouncy, Hill already has the ability to block and alter shots on the defensive end. He's an outstanding lob finisher, can play well above the rim and runs the floor well."
  22. Seems good at making good snap decisions and executing on them. Just what one's looking for in a guard.
  23. He hasn't been offered, but IU is watching and keeping in touch with Cooper Zachary from Fishers. I'm guessing this is probably a long game type situation where he'll go to a mid- or low-major school first then they'll be in a good position if he does well and decides to transfer. He is supposed to be pretty good but he's small, listed at 5'10", 150 lb. Maybe I'm wrong and a high-major like IU or PU will take a chance on him hoping he's the next Braden Smith. https://247sports.com/player/cooper-zachary-46156011/
  24. IU has offered 6'8", 205 lb C Davion Adkins of Dallas. Has a 7'2" wingspan. Will probably play PF at the college level. 247 has him with a 95 rating which is a 4*, 23rd overall and the #1 center in the class. The 247 composite has ranked similarly at 25th and the #1 center. Some other schools on his list are ASU, Cal, Houston, Kansas, KSU, LSU, Oregon, Rutger, Texas, and Texas Tech. 247 Back in April, Trevor Andershock described him as an impressive shot blocker who is quick off his feet with good timing. He said Adkins is offensively "raw with his back to the basket but has ball skills." From his 247 page linked above: Scouting Report Evaluated 12/23/2024 Adam FinkelsteinDirector of Scouting Adkins is one of the most naturally talented frontcourt prospects in the class of 2026 and while his tools have been glaring for some time now, he's just starting to turn potential into production at a more consistent rate. A long and athletic southpaw, Adkins is every bit of his listed 6-foot-8 with a massive 7-foot-2 wingspan, and huge hands. He's a bouncy vertical athlete and major lob threat who can rise-up for emphatic finishes. He also has soft natural touch and clear long-term shooting potential that should eventually allow him to stretch the floor both vertically and to the arc. Adkins is much more of a play finisher than he is a playmaker at this point. He's just starting to develop some footwork around the paint, but needs to continue getting stronger, raise his release point in the lane, improve his right hand, and ability to put the ball on the floor when facing up. Defensively, he can be an impactful rebounder and rim protector when he's fully locked in, but possesses plenty of other untapped potential on that end as well.
  25. We lose a good portion of our team again after this year, including most, or possibly all, of the starting lineup so I agree that building some momentum this year is important. A tournament birth should be the expectation. This year he has the advantage of being able to take an international trip to get in extra practices and games played which should help them gel earlier. This year he had his son to build around and a vision to sell. If that fails, it'll be that much harder to sell that to good players next year. I'm not saying he can't recover from a bad first year, just that it becomes that much harder so gaining momentum early is important. UL had the advantage of playing in the ACC, which was very weak last year. Decent team but not as good as the record would indicate. IU has a much tougher schedule.
