  1. Human eyeballs (is that as opposed to doggy eyeballs?) don’t matter for selection lol
  2. Only good “on “paper?” Yes, the paper is the objective criteria considered, your subjective assessment doesn’t matter, but you know that.
  3. In summary, we’ve got work to do
  4. 100%. All the interim coach talk and mid-season firing is just wishful thinking (imo) which ignores everything the U/Trustees have done with Woodson to date. He’ll be given the rest of the season to accomplish whatever he can. Then he’ll retire, in all likelihood.
  5. A little zen - don’t worry about what you can’t control, enjoy the moment. And Woodson’s goose is cooked
  6. Ballo has been balling nonstop while Malik is out. We could be good if Woodson knew how to play 1 big
  7. Yeah we’re going to win this one. OSU really missing their best player, but happy for Carlyle
  8. Change - with Royal out O$U - 77 Woodson still can’t win - 72
  9. Still have the ability to get back into this one. i have confidence in Moren and the Women to adjust. Bad start but a 15 point game with 3 plus left in 2nd Q leaves plenty of time
  10. Lol I literally said "not old". Dude.
  11. Dude, I would love it if it bears fruit but the guy left coaching altogether for the C's, hasn't coached in years, is getting up in years (not old but it's been a while since he was on the floor), and man we've been down this road twice already. If it starts to pick up steam I'll be very interested. But no way am I just going to buy in, and Rabby really doesn't know jack about him FWIW, no idea about Trilly but not a believer in him. Like your posts here, but no, I'm not buying in on this.
  12. Oh Lord, here we go again lol
  13. FWIW my recollection is the grades were an ongoing problem and were related to the ongoing multiple drug issues with several of the players that year and leading into it. It took IU a few years after Sampson to bring the team academics back up to par. Houston is not a nice city -- lol, it's an zoneless incredibly unattractive ugly mess of a city with terrible traffic and horrible drivers (repeatedly ranked as one of the worst driving cities in the country) that generally has a thriving economy because of how corporate-friendly it is -- but UofH has been very well developed into a good college and excellent resources and one Hell of a bball program under Sampson. His teams are so much fun to watch.
  14. Won 2 B1G championships, took us to 3 SW16's, nations longest #1 ranked team during his tenure, often one of the highest scoring Div I offenses, B1G COY. He wasn't a great bball mind by any stretch, but he opened up an offense that was a blast to watch, brought in and developed a long list of some of the best players to ever wear an IU jersey, and single-handedly took us back from a team that had 0 scolys and had to play baseball players, bottom of the Big !0, to a winning program with multiple NCAA appearances. He couldn't build consistency as he kept bringing in guys who left for the League without a core and then brought in multiple guys who had no business playing at IU, and he wasn't on the level of coaching to take IU back to the top, but he was better than this - and if he was our coach now, we'd be so much better. Funny how that worked out with the terrible hire CAM and Woodson decisions.
  15. I love Sampson - as a coach and basketball mind - but the culture at IU under Sampson was horrible, it was a drug and failed class culture, not sure what your age is or whether you were following IU ball then, but while the level bball under his coaching was outstanding (we were 24-4 when Sampsongate broke), the academics were in the dumpster, multiple players failing, drug issues and suspensions everywhere, we didn't get Cody's older brother then because his family wanted no part of that "culture." I'm here in Houston, the program Sampson built here (after the lengthy show cause and having to coach in the NBA before he could come back to college) is, at least from a bball standpoint, fantastic. One of the best bball minds in the college game, hands down. Don't really know what the academics etc. are like for the players here, it basically doesn't matter to the Univ. of Houston, very different situation from a college standpoint. But do I wish he could have worked out at IU? If he could have adjusted to some basic academic requirements for the players, absolutely.
  16. Nothing will happen anytime soon. That’s just realistic. Can’t wait to see us move on from Woodson but would bet that will come in the form of “retirement” at end of season. Have to think though that Dolson is gettIng more active in the new coach search
  17. Checking in after walking away from following the trainwreck of a game last night. I don't recall ever hearing a student section chant "fire" the coach - neither Archie nor Crean. Was last night the first or has that happened before. That chant was ugly stuff lol
  18. I am so glad I chose not to watch. Heading out to dinner, later guys, hope I turn on the tv later to hear this idiot has been canned
