I don’t agree with, but like the way you put this post together, lol. However, no, it’s not that the Board, like a cult, jumps anyone who questions the “insiders,” it’s not being big on attacking the regular posters here who some refer to as insiders, Chris etc. I have personally repeatedly said the BS talk is just that, BS, imo, that I can’t wait for the endless fantasy that is the BS following to die out so we can see who really is in the running, again imo. That’s worlds different than castigating guys who post here regularly and are either either just sharing info they believe or are trying to put 2 and 2 together. End of the day it’s all speculation, no one here actually “knows,” and it should be read in fun or just interest. You know, it’s just a message board. And this thread is now hysterical, lol -

I’m saying we can’t really get a decent idea of likely tournament success because neither has much to measure there. Every coach had their own risks sure, but part of winning history is tournament experience and success -

Todd Golden and Darian Devries are both interesting but with limited NCAA tournament experience, probably rolls of the dice though both have good track records -

It just read as a generally classy post from one coach to another— it’s a community, it’s the right thing to say, and honestly does a reporter expect anything else? Cronin rubs people wrong for his sideline stuff and pos t-game press conferences, but talking about a fellow coach? Classy response and really no reason to think he’d say anything differently -

I hear you but think it’s also a timing issue and - realistically- a Quin B / BoT issue there. Buckner won’t be there to get his guy, that experiment failed miserably. Dolson has the keys now. I see this more similar to when Crean was hired - for what we needed then that was a good hire. We need better now, but the foundation is there. -

I’ll say this, while I don’t think Dolson will be able to pull May from UM, if he somehow does just imagine the vibe. I mean everyone would be behind that hire, a knock it out of the park home run, the excitement would be back, and the conference contention and tournament runs would follow. Talk about bringing back IU basketball— we’d be doing cartwheels here -

Dusty big time and I do think McDermott has proven himself well at Creighton — I can’t bring myself to call him old since he’s just a few years older than me…. -

Lol at the Brad Stevens train, was never going to happen. Now that we’re finally past that (again), really interested to see who the real possibles are, if that’s possible. I don’t think we can pull you know who from UM, but I hope every effort possible is made, he is exactly who IU needs to actually get back, imo. After him, don’t know. If Creighton can’t retain I’d look hard there -

There was a time when Gottlieb was at ESPN that he would go out of his way to bash IU and its fans, kind of like a current guy but actually worse. We used to troll the Hell out of him. Lol, the good old days -

Don’t know Trilly and not directed at him, but the things changed after new information is what they all say, it’s a cop out . No doubt that will be said here when the fantasy BS thing “falls through” -

Understand where you’re coming from, but end of the day in the 5-man game of bball dominant players win. That is, with good coaching. I want to have a really good x’s and o’s coach, only Sampson and RMK fit that bill at IU, but of course the powerhouse programs recruit, land and win with elite players, KU, Duke, etc. don’t try to win with just “mental over physical,” that gets you only do far. Put yourself in the best position to win with the best players. And the RMK reference there is kind of ironic. He had boatloads of top rated players. He wasn’t winning championships with smart non-athlete players, no program does. Get a really good x’s and o’s coach who is a proven winner — and recruits like there’s no tomorrow, builds programs, elite players, and plays modern bball for Christ’a sake. This isn’t the 1970’s, get long, athletic 2-way wings, shooters, speed, and yes, athleticism.
