  1. From a player development perspective including making the NBA, TJD should be taking shots here and there, showing some range. From a team - close season well and get into the tourney, I don’t think he should, rather, he should be kicking it back out and rolling to the rim. He isn’t going to overpower a guy like manbeast yesterday, he needs to find shooters in games like that and help open up the lane
  2. 2 things stood out to me, 1 has to get corrected for our offense to get to the level needed for IU to compete for the top of the conference and good NCAA tourney runs — 1. Significant increase in 3-point shooting, as in USE the 3-point shooters we have and build shooting from the arc, play inside out, don’t just go back to running O down through TJD when facing dominant bigs. - compare, IU 3-13 from arc. We’re still shooting from deep towards the bottom of the B1G, with Ill 10-23. So they shot 10 more 3’s and ended up 44%. That’s ball game right there. How many 3’s did Kopp take? 0 in 16 minutes. Why is he starting? Stew hit 2-4, we should be using his outside game more. 2. We are missing Rob defensively and for his potential to spark the O like against PU.
  3. Or just think Tim Duncan. Duncan was a master with the bank and shot at the elbow. It’s kind of strange we don’t see more players using the bank more. Kobe had a great bank shot, you’d think that would inspire
  4. Today’s the day — let’s go!
  5. Love watching Berger play, she’s one of the best IU women I’ve watched, such a great feel for the game
  6. It is, it’s just that it’s so stupid. So I feel pretty strongly about this lol
  7. Not unexpected but still sucks. Could really use Rob, and hope he beats the odds and is back sooner
  8. I’m a lawyer. It’s not a charge that should be brought, period. You can pull up a criminal statute on almost anything (hey, let’s charge jaywalkers with a crime!). You don’t arrest and charge a college kid in a basketball game for spitting, you don’t screw with a kid’s life, with a criminal charge, over something like this. It’s exceptionally stupid, and an absolute abuse of “discretion.” The almost certain result is that no prosecutor will pursue this idiotic charge, but now the kid has an arrest record. Just stupid
  9. it doesn't change the nature of a criminal charge. Again, classless and stupid, but unless you know he has covid and then spits on someone, you don't have a legit basis to charge a player with a crime. This is not a matter for cops. This is a team-university thing, not a cop thing
  10. Classless and stupid thing to do, but arresting him is equally stupid. Charging a player with a crime for assault based on spitting is flat out idiotic.
  11. Said another way, this is a game where it's really important that X not try to do too much himself, and to move the ball well
  12. Reasons for optimism in this game - Galloway and Geronimo are now playing in the 18-25 min range, and producing well on both sides of the ball - Durr back - Illinois is coming off a convincing W -- we should want this game more, our guys' energy will be there - AH crowd will be rocking, limelight game, let's get it
  13. I'm hoping Bates brings it -- he's kind of a wild card. 0-6 last game, not typical, after the game before had him looking like he was getting back on track. With the personal issues he had to go through and the intensity of B1G play he's sort of hit that Frosh wall - hope he punches through it, has the ability to make a difference.
  14. It’s not about his stats or whether he’s suddenly a better player, it’s what he — clearly — does to contribute to a very good Prov team, starting and playing more minutes, he helps them win. He’s a good player — he’s not a dynamic leading scorer, but he absolutely helps them win. He really was under appreciated here, and some of these posts just highlight that
  15. Yes that’s the polar opposite of CAM
  16. That’s possible. There was zero player development under CAM. But at the same time, he’s been at Prov for part of a season as a grad, I don’t think he’s significantly developed i think it’s that he’s playing in a better system and doesn’t have to be a primary scorer to succeed, or to have his contributions recognized
  17. UK - More amused, because Cal is still too scared to play at IU. Chicken. PU - Looking forward to renewed rivalry, now that we have a real coach again. Started with the W. Respect? Nahh. MSU - Do respect the coaching, but can't stand the man - Izzo, whiney little B, no ethics, turns the cheek to rules/criminal conduct because it helps him win. OSU. Who? Illini - yup. And a shout out to old Mile/Ken from HSN (RIP), who hated the Illini above all others. Wisc - Hate them. Hate their moronic fans. Time to get back to beating them, regularly.
  18. Yeah see I disagree here. We're watching Al now as a strong part of a very successful Prov team. When he was here he was relentlessly downplayed and criticized. He's not the 'guy,' not the guy who should be the primary scorer leading IU, but he is a starter who contributes on a high level, was here and is there. Good for him.
  19. He was under appreciated here.
  20. Generally agree but it doesn't help to be missing Rob, hard to continue to get better without one of two primary point guards. That said I am optimistically thinking we go 5-4. I won't be thrilled if we go 4-5, but if we can -- please -- just finally take care of Wisc at home, within either 4-5 or 5-4, I'd be fine with that. I can't stand, hate, am disgusted with, really annoyed with, Wisc.
  21. With the next game a likely matchup in the bracket with Duke. Now that would be fun.
