  1. Hell of a Euro - step drive in traffic. That was elite
  2. And NC State back up by 8.This Smith kid can ball. 21 points already
  3. Yeah NC St is looking solid, and exposing PU’s D. For all the talk here about how great PU is this year (gag), their D is suspect and they don’t handle pressure well. Regardless how this game ends there are clear holes in their game
  4. Geronimo again showing why he deserves minutes. Good to see him continuing his progression
  5. Definitely want to see guys getting minutes, getting more floor chemistry, Geronimo, Leal, KL are going to help down the road
  6. - I’m worried about this one - Really hope I’m wrong :)
  7. Agree. And some of that is because of who plays are being run for.
  8. Do think we'll be 14-2 coming into the @Iowa game. As bad as the second half collapse was last night, if we're 14-2 at the point we should be in good shape. And I think we finish over 21 W's. I really, really can't wait for the rematch vs Wiscy. Think we'll win it.
  9. Agree with both of you. Bates is hands down one of our best players already, but, as a frosh he makes frosh mistakes at times and staff is playing vets / experienced players to start and Kopp for his shooting. Eventually though Bates will start, he's way too good, on BOTH ends, to be playing off the bench - just needs to continue to learn as a frosh and develop, and he'll step into that position, sooner the better, imo.
  10. That'll end this year.
  11. OK, I am so glad I didn't watch the 2nd half. Loved the first half, and just decided I wasn't going to chance suffering an awful L. So, not having watched the meltdown and refs taking things over, as we thought they would, I'm still seeing positives in this game-- - The way we balanced the O in the 1st half was excellent, and TJD was moving the ball, that pass to Race at the rim was fantastic, need to build off that - Keeping the schedule in mind - so looking at the next 7 I do think we'll be 14-2. That includes a W @PSU and home v OSU. - Then we lose @Iowa, win @Neb, and have the showdown with PU. By then, barring injuries, the team that played the first half can beat PU at home. - We got some solid rotation minutes from a couple guys, Geronimo came in for 5 boards, 2 blocks, hit 3-4 from the stripe, and just 1 TO in 12 minutes. And he started strong. Guy has earned minutes, said earlier I think he needs to play, get him minutes and he'll contribute, he's got a lot of upside and can defend multiple positions. - Stewart can flat out shoot. He has found his groove. I look for more inside out and plays for his shooting. I do think Lander needs to see the floor when X and Phin are falling off
  12. No way would I have predicted this half lead, this is something special. I mean seriously, big time lead at Wisc?? Now, same energy, same focus, 20 more bball minutes, bring this home
  13. Uh, gee, X was clearly grabbed refs
  14. Good timeout call, draw up some plays to close out this half well
  15. Why you gonna insult Tweety Bird like that?
  16. Well, this is impressive
  17. And Vic played heavily from day 1, because that squad was thin, and right - he improved - offensively- leaps and bounds, because he was playing, that’s the point. He would not have if he wasn’t getting that run. And he went from a guy who fouled quickly and sometimes looked lost to the best defender in the B1G and from shooting 3’s in the the 20s to shooting in the 40s and you know what? During those years i was on the boards trading posts with guys who said Vic was just an athlete, he wasn’t skilled enough, we should have recruited ANY Indiana HS kid over him (that’s a direct quote, you guys remember GoColts?), it was laughable to say he could make the NBA. How’d that turn out?
  18. Appreciate the feedback -- and my points are all just my opinion. I've seen this kid lock people down on D - I've also seen him get lost. And as I've posted, I know a guy personally who scouted both Vic and Geronimo and told me Geronimo was better than Vic at the same stage. Of course they were both high schoolers at the time, but this is a scout's take. He has huge upside. And we have some guys whose D is pretty clearly lacking (and we're missing Galloway). I want to see G get floor time because the sooner he's rolling on all cylinders -- not getting lost etc. -- the better we'll be on D, on the glass (he rebounds), and with additional O he brings. I don't like not playing guys who can help down the road or in matchups. G can do both.
  19. Based on how Wisconsin has played so far and their players, we should comfortably out-rebound them, and TJD and Race have a distinct advantage against their bigs. Related, but for Wisconsin's typical home-cooking refs, TJD and Race should both be at the stripe, and if, officials willing, they're shooting the FT's they should, they need to connect on them, as that could absolutely be the difference between the expected L and a W. Wisconsin, though, turns opponents over and we turn it over at terrible rate, and will lose if we do so tonight. And Wisconsin plays methodically, very slow pace, and they take care of the ball. So yeah, rebound, get to the line (come on zebras) and hit the FTs, avoid careless TO's, avoid foul trouble especially X, and we have a legit shot.
