(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
HoosierHoopster replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's been posted on here a few times, at least when it was posted, when the lineups were compared those with both Rob and X on the floor together were the most efficient -- they play well together, and the team has played well with both of them, as opposed to just one of them, on the floor. I haven't seen recent game lineup comparisons, but it good info when posted. Edit -- just saw that was an older post, DWB, but would be interesting to see if this remains the case through today on game lineup comparisons -
The replies are kind of entertaining: Merritt @MerrittIUfan82 · 20h Replying to @GoodmanHoops @Jumpshot8 and 2 others They lost 3 road games. Which hundreds of past college teams who've gone on to make the NCAA tournament, and did well, have done. Your comment provides zero incite to anything other than your disdain for Indiana basketball. Kale Glynn @Farm_Lift · 19h Replying to @GoodmanHoops @Jumpshot8 and 2 others Man, you guys want to see him and Indiana fail. austin vonn grissom @VaughnAusten · 18h Jeff’s parents failed him- Siblings should never reproduce- bless his little heart IU looks like they should or could have won every game with a new coach and 3 new players on the team who are also starters - I would say so far so good - plus STRONG first year recruit class

LOL every time I open the site and click to one of the threads the pop-up add is now for Stumptown Coffee
-
Naah, it's just bad :) And I know a couple barristas in a local coffee shop, they literally laugh at people who buy Americanos lol. Yeah the process provides better coffee for the mix, but 1/3 to 2/3?? Horrible, watered down flavor...
-
^^ Agree, but also as well as we turned our D into O to power through the second half into a very convincing W, we only shot 15 from the Arc, and went 2-15 from the Arc. Not good. Overall we shot 25 of 61 FG's, inside play dominated. OSU by comparison shot 27 from outside and went 8-27. We still need to use our outside game, really need to improve the inside-out play, without it we remain exposed, we can't be shooting threes at the bottom of the conference.
-
So, to make an Americano -- it's just water and espresso -- it's not essentially the base, it's a watered down espresso! It's either 1/2 and 1/2, or 1/3 espresso and 2/3 water. It's awful (to me).
-
Yeah back when I didn't know better I'd occasionally order one but it always tasted awful -- as diluted espresso, it's a little different than an ordinary drip cup, right? I mean, it just tastes bad. And yeah, charging more for it is a total scam

That's kind of divine providence, right... -
I've never understood the why behind an Americano, or anyone liking it. It's just watered down -- diluted coffee/espresso.... Ugh
-
Yeah I have that nespresso, it's not bad

Run from Starbucks. Run away as fast as you can
-
Oh crap we may be married to the same woman.
-
Yeah I put my beans in a sealed container -- standard air-tight coffee container, beats a ziplock bag!
-
OK you win
-
Side note, years ago, back in the 90s, my wife and I lived in KC right around the corner from a Folgers factory -- Imagine walking out your door and being engulfed in the aroma of coffee -- it was like putting your nose into a coffee can, just walking down the street, and man it smelled good. Probably when I became a full on coffee addict lol
-
Endeavor to persevere :)
-
Yeah roast to cup, and quality of the grinder matter big time. But the oils added change the taste (God help us all on Starbucks lol, horrible). Have you tried Stumptown, their beans are well-sourced and excellent all around.
-
Awesome, more types and sources of beans and more ways to make them, now this is a thread I will read anytime it's updated! I go back and forth between a French press and percolating -- old school percolator still makes great coffee, all about how long you brew it and the amount of ground coffee to your taste. Going to have to check out lavelacoffee.com. I buy direct from Stumptown - https://www.stumptowncoffee.com/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMIqPXJ3fGf9QIV1hvUAR3-iAugEAAYASAAEgIfI_D_BwE - haven't found a coffee with a better aroma, no oils, beans are just excellent.
-
^^ We had major swag last night. And it was good to see.
-
^^ Start the coffee thread. My name is HoosierHoopster and I am a coffee addict (!) And a full-on coffee nerd. Grind and percolate or french press - Stumptown (Hair Bender)Kicking Horse (Three Sister), Death Wish .. aaahhh

I am really impressed with how well Galloway came back, he was in game shape and had no real miscues. I do think having him back makes a real difference. But i also think regardless we’re seeing an IU team that has the home court moxie. We’re undefeated at home, and 11-3, and reenergized. @Optimistic

Galloway hasn't even played in weeks due to his injury, and he's going to have to get back to game shape and timing, and we really don't know yet to what extent his shot has improved. Leal is promising, but he's a frosh who is averaging under 12 mpg, he started 1 game due to Stewart getting benched, he can shoot but he's down to 33% from the arc and that's off the bench. Kopp is veteran, good shooting, but he' scores less than Bates per 40 min, because he has been taking too many 2's and missing them in bad percentages (Bates 52% to Kopp 39%), and rebounding? Geronimo averages 14.7 boards per 40, Kopp - only 4.2, that's a problem. If we're talking mixing up the starters, and Kopp stays in, he should stay in shooting 3's, and we need rebounding. We're not halfway through the season yet. Personally, I think the shake up the starters big time talk is premature (jmo). I do think guys like Geronimo and Bates and Leal should be playing more, but if shaking up the starters we need rebounding and D to go with outside shooting, and what we really need is inside - out shooting, as in much more of it. We're shooting well, but as has been posted, we're still shooting by numbers at the bottom of the conference, that's the problem.
