Why is this so hard to understand? Why are we actually engaged in an argument that shooting 3's at the BOTTOM of the B1G and sub 300 in the country, while we barely escape a God awful Army team, won't hamstring us? Of course we should be shooting more 3's, that should be obvious. We have guys who can shoot, but our offense is not geared to outside shooting, that also should be obvious. Shoot more. Please.

I know where you’re coming from but first 2 years? First year with no scholarship players and having to play baseball / walkon players, not in any way comparable. We have major talent on this team and are playing terrible basketball. Really, really bad ball. I’m an IU optimist, a glass half full guy, but the system CMW is playing right now should change, and the God awful perimeter D must be fixed. Staff takes at least some of the blame for this bad basketball

We absolutely have several players who can hit well, on a good percentage, from outside. Volume shooters? That's purely a product of the offense we're running, not the individuals. Volume is the O, not the player. We are clearly taking shots, by volume, at the bottom of the B1G -- again -- and we're low nationally -- again -- despite that we have guys who can shoot. What will "wreck" the season is playing to a system that isn't working, running two bigs up front who don't play well together and with poor perimeter D. We're getting grossly exposed from the outside, while we're not shooting from the outside. To keep playing like this is a recipe for a low B1G finish.

And this is a real problem- and one I don’t understand. As in, why?

Recurring theme. Honestly I think that is on the staff. We seem to be too wed to an inside game. Hope to see that change soon

Don’t worry, be happy. :) it’s one game, Bako is a legit 5-star killer shooter/scorer, he’ll get the college D figured out. You just can’t draw these kind of sweeping conclusions from 1 game, not to mention the very 1st actual D1 game.5-7 or so games in we’ll see how the lineups and players are shaping up, and that will still be early development. I can’t wait to see this team in mid January
