Doubt it. They barely clawed back to the 1 pt win, staff was going nuts and no doubt read them the riot act during half time and since.

As they say, just win. The current games matter, but the angst over them is exaggerated, imo. Get through the next couple, get X back, go win some games, the rest will follow.

People used to complain about Crean’s subbing, kind of weird to see Woody continuing the multiple player subbing this far in, and I am one who thinks he needs to work on his stubbornness and adapt better. But, we’ve already seen him turn around a game this season by switching to zone in the 2nd, and he / staff generally seem to be using guys off the bench a bit better (hockey subs notwithstanding). I’m waiting to see how we look and how we’re playing and with whom when X is healthy

I don’t think we’re a very good team so far. On the other hand you guys are ignoring thst we’re playing without X and starting a true frosh point who doesn’t score and frankly barely assists. X has not been great either this season but he’s a senior, tough proven point. It definitely makes a difference. Let’s see where we are by mid-conf play. Right now, we really just don’t know

MH can score, but generally struggles with D. I think we’ll settle in and pull away a bit in the second. Not really surprising it’s a letdown start after the effort against KU

Self is dirty. Dude’s a cheater. Bad example imo. Agree on Sampson, from a pure coaching standpoint. Fantastic coach. But zero regard for academics and at best ambivalent about NCAA recruiting rules. And our guys had a serious drug culture going when he was here. Finding the right guy for IU is not like finding the right guy at KU, Houston, Auburn, etc. If we just want to win and don’t care about ethics, academics, integrity, or rules, it’s a lot easier.

You may need to prepare your son this year. Poor little guy. :)

I hear you, but I have mixed feelings on that. Guys like JHS may start slow but turn into monster players, and personally I prefer to see us continue to recruit frosh — has to be a mix of portal and frosh to grow the team. Bako has all the tools to be a very strong offensive player/shooter. Agree we should have gotten an exp guard from the portal- but want the balance and continuity in recruiting that comes with recruiting strong frosh prospects

In fairness would expect that to come around. He didn’t forget how to shoot, he is a very good shooter
