Really bad phrasing using "estimated to have spent" when it is really his estimate of what the transfers cost/value is. He undermines himself in the explanation paragraphs below saying Iowa isn't really estimated to have spent that much so they got good value according to him.

I remember watching the UT scrimmage and thinking Mbako looked like he had a good offseason and may have a good season. He looked progressively worse instead.

OK, I'm sold. I watched a game earlier this year and was entertained, but the two things @Home Jersey just posted have me all aboard the McCollum train. To me these things are eerily similar to what came out about what Ainge was saying about Stevens (while at Butler) before he decided to pursue him. To me, the point of hiring a coach isn't to win the press conference. It isn't to have success in year 1 or any specific year for that matter. The point of hiring a coach is to get the person you think would have the best career at your school. I understand this is subjective forecasting and extremely difficult. If McCollum's the guy, go get him.

So they changed it from that awesome bracket you posted earlier (2024) to a "normal" bracket this year? Boo! Do you know how many years they utilized the 2024 format?

I got tickets for the 1st day for cheap a month or so ago. Think a poster on here alerted me to the deal at the time (sorry not sure who or I'd give credit). It was $170 for 4 tickets (3 games) in the 104 section. At the time, it looked like IU might be playing, but its looking like they'll make it out of the bottom 6 of teams playing (bottom 9 overall).

Strange timing and they obviously didn't get the memo that the process shouldn't start until after the season or that's its mean to fire a coach before he gets 4 full seasons.

Maybe be playing an "old friend" in Calipari in the First Four...

He's probably Gabe Cupps at IU under Woodson. Coach Cig type of player. It isn't about the stars its about the production. I went to see him play once (live in Westfield) before he committed and I wanted IU to offer him. He didn't even have a great game, but I could tell (even with my amateur level eye) he's the type of player that would help our program. His rebounding and command of the floor stood out to me.

Could be a fitting final game for CMW
