Because it is easier to shoot a 3 than to shoot mid range. Mid range is considered a high risk-low reward shot. Just one of the evolutions of basketball. I think Stan Van Gundy was one of the first who was huge about shooting only layups and 3’s. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app

Because you can see it in Penix and the playbook gets opened more. As a Junior and someone who has started about 20 games, they shouldn’t be restricting the playbook. But they are and there is a reason. What do you think will happen against Michigan State? A team that will load the box and make Ramsey beat them. They will easily dominate the offensive line and we won’t have a shot at beating them because we can’t even take a shot downfield. No both arm. Ramsey has still had the arm strength of a high school Sophomore while Diamont was like a HS freshman. Ramsey is a Junior in college. Wisconsin still played incredibly slow but everything went through the two best players and they did more outside of the normal offense. More ISO’s and things. Same with Virginia. He gave more power to his 3 best players and let them take the reigns. I was surprised to see them win, but good for them. There is one that breaks the trend at times. Better question is what is Glass’ vision of the football team and what is Allen’s? From what I see, there is no vision. Under Wilson it was offense. And an offense that went no huddle, as one of the fastest in the nation and put points on the board. Allen is a defensive guy, but hires an OC that goes no huddle and quicker.. but at the same time you want strong, tough and stingy defense.. they don’t mix very well. Especially with such a low talent level. I’d understand if Allen wanted to go the smash mouth style. Huddle up, monster sized offensive line and run it down people’s throats. Bennett seemed to have changed his coaching style last year. The same Bo Ryan did when they went to the title game and had Kaminsky and Dekker.
