It’s mainly been short throws and he doesn’t like throwing the ball away and will throw it to a guy even if they lose yards. He may have a high completion percentage, but he isn’t going to win you a game or be one of the best players on the field. He’s better than the UConn QB, but there is a reason UConn is so terrible. Smith and Durham are Archie’s recruits. He re-recruited them and they’ve never been coached by anyone else at IU. Those are his guys. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The Marquette was probably the best game we’ve seen under Archie. Offense clicked. Defense played well. It then you have games like Nebraska, Northwestern, Rutgers etc... Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Fred likely saved himself another 5 years by putting names back on football uniforms. That may have been his dumbest decision. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners -

Because they do mean something. Sure they can be proven wrong but people get pretty close. Hopefully Indiana is a surprise. TJD isn’t Cody Zeller but maybe he’s exactly what we needed. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Mack did walk into a shiz show left by Pitino. A program that was ready to crumble. UofL is now considered a Top 5 team going into his 2nd season. That’s pretty good for a new hire. Ohio State is considered a Top 15 in his 3rd season and it’s mainly with his guys as he’s recruited pretty well. This is a big year for Archie whether people like that or not. They can say Smith and Durham aren’t his recruits, but they’ve only been coached by Archie. So Archie should get plenty of blame for their shortcomings. Green is about to play his 3rd year under Archie. He’s basically an Archie guy now. We should see the improvement from those 3. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

We hope to be eating crow by 2021, as of now that doesn’t look to be the case as we are projected to miss the tourney this coming season and possibly the season after depending on departures. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

For those involved they obviously care. But to the average fan and probably the majority of IU fans, they likely only watch it if they see a highlight on Twitter or FB. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

It’ll be interesting to see how they bounce back. Hunter, Guy and Jerome all leaving. Guy and Jerome was arguably the best backcourt in the nation. Jack Salt graduated. Clark, Key and Diakite all return and will likely be their top 3 players. Offensively isn’t a big deal for them because the offense is so slow that having big time scorers like Hunter, Guy and Jerome aren’t needed, but those 3 were the reason they were so good. This will be Bennett’s first at a “reload” as they’ll still be a Top 25 team pretty easily because of their defense. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

We all are. But when those sports suck, do we care? No. How many go watch the games? Not a lot. Are the tickets $5 and sit where you want? That alone tells you something of those. I’ve been to a lot of girls game over the last 5 years. The NIT run was awesome. But regular season game they were lucky to get a couple thousand there. I still want to go to a baseball game and soccer match. But Glass’ and basically every single AD’s job at a P5 school comes down to basketball and/or football depending on the situations. If men’s basketball becomes an annual Top 15 team again and the football team is only winning 3 games a year and the rest of the sports take a dive, Glass is keeping his job. It’s great when those sports are doing good, but people don’t bat an eye when they are bad. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

So can we find someone to create that for us combining those two and making a website for it? That’d be helpful. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

I will use a composite before I ever use just 247, just Rivals or just ESPN. ESPN has their agenda on players and teams. I see a lot of fans switch back and forth with whichever ranking system has their commits ranked the highest or their class ranked the highest. The composite seems the most fair. It would be nice to which ranking systems they use but I imagine those 3 are definitely in there. Now if someone wants to create a composite using only those 3, then be my guest. That’s why I always use the 247 composite. By far the best ranking to use since it uses so many different systems. As of now Indiana is 2nd in the Big Ten behind only Wisconsin. But there are also like 100 uncommitted kids out of the Top 150. And like half or so of the Top 100. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

Seeing improvement will be tricky this season because of the line moving backwards. If guys stick at the % then I’d consider that to be improvement just because of the increase in difficulty. There also be a lot more space. But it was also the same in the NIT and the offense was still pretty rough. And for the people who think losing Romeo is a good thing, it certainly didn’t help in the NIT. A more motion driven offense is always ideal and I think Indiana fans are very fond of the motion offense for a couple reasons. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

You say do you a favor but red flags can be seen after two years. People like you are happy with just having Indiana kids committing and that is enough, even with minimal success. Miller is doing an okay job recruiting. Nothing that should be too shocking so far. It’s where he has put his emphasis. He’s gotten Romeo and TJD. He had no clue how to use Romeo so that really hurt outside of of his injury. He should be better with TJD with how his offense has worked the last two seasons. Leal is the likely Mr. Basketball but he shouldn’t be expected to do a ton his freshman season. You say Archie is one of the hottest young coaches in CBB, but after two seasons that is no longer the case. When he was at Dayton maybe. But there are two big red flags that will always keep Archie down. 1. His inability to coach an offense goes back to Dayton. His offensive philosophy is atrocious and his ability to even have it running correctly hasn’t happened outside of maybe 5 or so games. The Marquette game was probably the best offensive showing IU has had under Archie and it went downhill real quick afterwards. 2. His substitution decisions. They really didn’t make sense and last year they were almost insane. The most memorable for me was during the Nebraska game(which I attended) when at the end of the half he decided to put McRoberts and Fitzner on the floor. Indiana had actually worked it’s way back into the game and what happened on that very last play? The last play that literally every person I could hear say “that’s the worst substitution I’ve ever seen.” McRoberts got blown by and Fitzner was to slow to help and Nebraska was able to end the half with a dunk and momentum. Can Miller Fox those problems? Absolutely. He’s still pretty young. Is it likely? Not really after this many years of his coaching career. But I am hoping like crazy that I’m proven wrong. That’s what I’m worried about with my kids. I was luckily born and raised an IU fan. My parents didn’t go to school but my dad just so happened to start watching when he was 5 or 6 when Knight was hired because his dad started watching IU at that time. My son is only 11 months old right now(and have another on the way) but how good will IU be when he can start remembering or when he can decide who his favorite team is? I can really only remember watching games in 2002 and on with how young I was. That just so happened to be the Final Four run. My kids may not have that to witness as fans. And I can’t have a couple U.K. fans or something running around here. Football I won’t be too worried about but basketball is a whole different story. I think if he can fix his offense, he will be fine. But that’s been the biggest problem the last two year. Obviously shooters will help, but his offense is still based off of the pick and roll mainly. And in the last two years I have witnessed the laziest pick and rolls I’ve ever seen. It would be nice to see more ball and player movement. The shooting woes are likely to continue with the 3pt line moving back so TJD and Davis probably won’t have a lot of room and same for Smith slashing. That’s not really saying much and it is was apparent come selection Sunday that NET didn’t mean as much as people thought. Indiana was still really really bad last season. If you watched games and thought “this is getting better” then you’re blind. They lost 12 of 13 for a reason. Literally the only reason they were even remotely near tourney talk is because the NET is built to push P5 teams ahead of everyone else. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app -

The best time to fire Crean was 2011. Stevens had just went to his 2nd title game. Zeller was already committed. Indiana just had a disappointing season even with the low expectations it had. Then was the time to pull the trigger. You pull in Stevens, no one is leaving. Zeller was staying for two years. Yogi was still coming in because of Zeller. Indiana would have been on a much better trajectory. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
