So the Wayne in your profile name refers to Fort Wayne? I am from there as well. Regardless, good stuff. IU has been recruiting that area better the last few years.

You wanna end up in junior college? Keep thinking "My job is to coach". It's a new era you got to do more than coach these days if you want to make millions.

A long time? This year's class was pretty good in my eyes. One guy is going to the NBA, the other played significant minutes, one guy faded, the other started contributing.

I'm not a fanboy of "insiders" but I do appreciate what all of them bring. It's way more fun. They're all wrong from time to time. But I'd rather they be wrong every now and then, than if they never shared any info at all. So I'm not sure what's to gain by saying one guy's full of it anymore so than any other guy? But that's just my two cents. I come here for scoops just like I go there for scoops. I would actually say most guys are spot on when it comes to current player/coaching and portal "rumors", but can strike out a bit with the "standard" recruit info. Unless the insider is Woody or the assistants, I think there's always going to be some "misses".

Per RTZ: I don’t post stuff to post stuff. I have a life. College basketball is now the Wild Wild West. I won’t hit every time. I share what I hear. I don’t claim to be someone I’m not. been posting for over 15 years all the way back to the Scout days.

Duncomb was 2-0 against Furst.

This is not a big deal at all.

He will for sure. You don't produce like he did without some talent, no matter the competition.

Yeah sorry. Done.

That's my point though. Woody needs to MAKE him take them and should have been doing that last year. That's development. That's coaching. He wants to play in the NBA, he needs to develop an outside shot. Woody wants to coach basketball. You have to make players do stuff. You can't just setup one type of game plan for the entire game. "If they start clogging the middle, we're going to light them up from the outside." That's exactly what Archie didn't do. Adjust the game plan based on the other team's game plan. And sometimes you have to anticipate what they are going to do first, then come out with something different. IU and TJD for that matter are better when they are playing fast. And he needed to start shooting last year and definitely should have been doing it earlier this year.

23-60 his last year. I am not saying Trayce is or will do that. First and foremost Woody has to let him though. That's my biggest beef with Woody. You have to actually coach, run plays or tell players to do stuff in college. This isn't the NBA where players will just find their own.

Anything is possible if he gets a big enough NIL offer. Unless he can shoot from outside (not proven at all that he can) his NBA prospects aren't great. Thomas Bryant proved though you can develop a jumper later.

Got it. I saw one guy guessing. Supposedly another mod on another site mentioned something, but at this point it seems like wishful thinking as much as anything.

Wright I believe. Where's the Jackson rumor coming from?
-
From who? I mean I’ve seen some Tweets… I’ve also heard there’s other QB we’re working on as well and not Nolan because he isn’t graduating until after this semester.

I was wondering about this. At the bottom of this article: https://247sports.com/Article/Transfer-portal-Oregon-State-QB-Chance-Nolan-Indiana-Louisiana-Tech-Colorado-State-202679506/ That whopping increase can be credited to the NCAA's new policy that student-athletes are allowed to transfer once in their careers without having to sit out a year-in-residence. That means all players who enter the transfer portal for the first time will be immediately eligible at their new school as long as they meet a NCAA-mandated entry deadline.

Some of these guys are nuts. Transfer in, transfer out...

I'm not a big rah rah guy just like I am not a big fan of the overtly macho dickhead stuff. But people bashing LEO are off base. Bashing his inability or probably a better word reluctance to hold players and coaches accountable I have less problems with. He's got enough talent to "win", he just hasn't made enough of the "off-season", "in-game", and "in-season" adjustments to change the tide when things weren't go well the past couple of seasons. Canning the fans #1 scape goat (and supposed best buddy) and hiring a good replacement was at least a start. Is it too late? Time will soon tell. Being the head coach can include using mantras like LEO but you still have to make the tough decisions. Love can also be tough, same with honesty. You have to practice what you preach. LEO is complicated. :)

You can LEO and bench players.

I agree if and when the time comes, they should look at Helton. But I think they'll have other decent options. Next year should be very interesting. It's really the make or break year for CTA, but for some reason (blind optimism, naivete?) I think he can still semi turn it around (get to a bowl). This season was disappointing, but better/more consistent QB play when the line was struggling (they did improve) and we're talking about a 6-6 or 7-5 season. Not benching Bazelak earlier was the main reason the season didn't go well. IU (CTA) can't stick with guys who are not playing well. IU doesn't have much margin for error. You can't ride players out of their funk especially a QB who's not a proven commodity. Like I would never have benched Penix (when healthy) because he was obviously their best option. But Bazelak basically had one good game then strung together a few "questionable" ones. Even if you start him again, you have to bench him "in game" when things are not going well. Many times that's how you find you're next starter or ignite the team. You have to have the balls to say "next man up". That's how you keep your players motivated and engaged. If it's all lip service, guys will start bailing on you. You can't keep playing guys because they played well at one time or because they're older. You have to give others a fair shot in a game to prove you or them, right or wrong.
