  1. Don’t disagree at all. My rant was probably a little bit because I’m just watching college football without much interest at this point and jonesing for some more meaningful IU games. Also as I mentioned, I went to the Gator bowl and feel like I missed out on a great experience gathering with my fellow alumni for a few days and having some fun. I couldn’t really swing for the ND tickets. Nor did I really want to pay those prices just to see an away game in South Bend in the cold. Hopefully there will be many more bowl games and CFP quarterfinals in our future. We shall see.
  2. Now we find out what this team is made of. Brutal five game in 14 day stretch that includes UCLA, USC and Iowa. If we can go 3-2 I think that will be a success for this year’s team.
  3. How in the world did that Wiscy team beat Butler??
  4. And this is a “down year” for us. Teri Moren has done a phenomenal job with the women’s program.
  5. I know I’m in the minority here. But with the way the CFP first round is set up, I really would have maybe liked it better if we made and won a bowl game. These games are still special. We would have played a good SEC or ACC team. Our fans would have been able to celebrate a great season with the team in a nice location. It just seems like such a letdown to have lost that game away and without fanfare and the things that go with bowl games. I see a team last night got to have a free throw contest at the half of the Grizzlies game. The teams in the Vegas bowl got to get custom Air Force ones made. I know I’m wrong, you take the CFP every time. But it’s almost like we got there ahead of schedule and maybe too early. Wish our guys would have gotten the experience of beating a good team, because I think they would have, on a neutral field. Lifting a bowl trophy. Having that momentum heading to next year. They only played two good teams this year, lost both. Would have maybe been nice to get a convincing win over a high quality power five team. Feels weird being bowl season and all the good teams starting to have games and we’re at home. Seeing Dylan Raiola running around Fenway hyping up the crowd, you just know that will spin forward into momentum for that program. Time will tell, and again, I’m sure I’m wrong. But can’t help but wish selfishly I was getting ready to go to Orlando or wherever to watch the Hoosiers and have that time I had in Jacksonville when we played Tennessee at the Gator Bowl. Just felt like it meant a lot to the fans and program. But I digress. Great season. Can’t wait until next year.
  6. So long as you enjoy opening your gifts in March. Ha!
  7. Brother, you’re welcome to check my posting history. Shoot @Chris007 a message or ping ESPZyn on Twitter - heck if you can find Birdman from back in the day, please, pull him out of retirement. We all private message each other to confirm we’re hearing the same thing from different sources. I’m not a troll. I’ve been here a long time. This is anything other than “thinking I have a (little) inside info.” Have a happy Christmas Eve and feel free to block me if you don’t agree with what’s coming from my account. :)
  8. Barring a final four miracle, yes. It’s been discussed how to transition for the best of all parties.
  9. @Napleshoosier I can see from the emoji there’s some confusion. Literally. I’ll be more hypothetically clear - say you went to IU and were a student athlete alongside one of the greatest collegiate coaches of all time in his sport. Say you were best friends with his son, who also played for the team, and spent most holidays with their family because you didn’t have a father figure. Say, dog nabbit, if you wouldn’t know it, that friend ended up taking over for his dad and leading the most successful athletic program at your Alma mater into their next generation. Maybe that friend has a front row seat at the table of the athletic department and his dad continues to have a say to future AD’s about how to build a championship program and the type of personality it takes at the helm. And maybeeeee that friend knows you’re a die hard IU sports fan in general and puts you in touch with a few people in high places so he can get you to stop annoying him and his dad for information whenever things are going on. Maybe, just maybeee, that person would have a conversation or two to wish someone, or multiple someone’s, a merry Christmas - that may or may not naturally lead into a conversation that gives this particular someone, some “inside” Information that he chooses to pass along to fans just like him, who he knows care as passionately about this school’s athletic programs. But maybe he thinks to himself, if I type exactly what I just heard on the phone, it’s gonna be pretty obvious to the person I just got off the phone with, that it’s me who is posting information on message boards. Maybe this guy decides to keep it simple but still pass on some interesting info for his online buddies - without risking a stern talking to from the people he considers family and/or a father. Hope this helps clarify. Happy holidays faceless names on a message board I consider friends!
  10. Sorry my guy. There’s this thing called journalistic integrity. I don’t understand it at ALL… but on an unrelated note, I can only share so much on public forums with my pals without it getting back to my source, and ending our stream of information. So you understand…
  11. This is his last season coaching IU.
  12. I misunderstood the original post. We can exhale that OUR guys aren’t entering the portal. Still think some good talent will enter after their bowl game conclude, which in a lot of cases is after the 28th. I wouldn’t exhale on the portal anticipation and nerves coming INTO the program until that movement happens.
  13. Putting in a “crystal ball pick” for Kamara returning to IU for his senior year.
  14. Correct me if I’m wrong, but don’t players in bowl games have something like 4 days after their game is over to declare and move? So it’s just closed for players whose season is over. ??
  15. Didn’t know exactly where to put this, but this seems as appropriate a place as any. Feel free to insert your own details because saying anything more would make this a blatant conversation posted word for word and get me in trouble - but Bryson Tucker is effectively using the rest of the season as a showcase for an SEC team with NIL and a better coach who can get him ready for the league. He’s had it with this program and the staff. Sad, because promising five stars aren’t lining up to play for us at the moment to begin with. But fleeing after one year isn’t a good look.
  16. I played golf today. How’s everyone doing up there in Indiana? :)
  17. There it is! He committed Saturday. Thought the announcement would come yesterday, but must have wanted it to be a Christmas gift for us! I’ll throw in a crystal ball prediction for Mendoza to IU as well.
  18. These games today have been boring. Committee need to fix the seeding. Ruining bowl season in a lot of ways for this.
  19. We already got one tonight :) Announcement tomorrow?
  20. Man, if there ever was an example of a guy who should be allowed to bypass the “must be a junior” nfl rule it’s got to be Jeremiah Smith. That guy would be WR1 on the Bears tomorrow. I hope he’s making a bag at OSU, because otherwise he’s giving up millions in NFL money right now.
  21. Totally agree. Think that’s the most obvious change, but would take the committee conceding that conference championships don’t mean anything anymore which they probably aren’t ready to do because of the money involved. But I think a SMU/ASU and Boise State/IU game, for the right to play Penn state or Texas, would have been better television and competition than the current setup provided.
