Wonder how much our strength of schedule is helped by Mich beating OSU. That was considered our best win. Has to be even better now.

Today? No. Have they been? Yes. Pearl more than anybody wanted the job. Will we make a move before the end of the season? TBD. I don’t think with the money they dumped into the off-season anybody in the admin expected to be having a discussion this soon.

If I had to fill out a bracket today I think I’d pick Auburn to win it all. They are that good. Athletic and long at every position. Which hurts extra hard because I can confirm with 100% certainty that Bruce Pearl was in contact with our admin about the IU job last year and we told him we were giving Woody one more crack at it. Auburn’s line-up is everything modern I want for IU and will probably not have for several more years.

Earlier I said Auburn would beat IU by 30+ I drastically overestimated our team. It would be much worse.

Remember at the end of last season when people were lauding Gallo and Leal announcing they were returning as a vote of confidence for Woody that his players believed in him? Glad they’re collecting one last NIL check on their way out the door this year.

Watched Auburn last night and all I could think was wow this team would beat IU by 40+

Good example today of a modern basketball offense against an antiquated one. You have to shoot 65% on 2’s to equal a team who shoots 35% of their threes. Our post production will always struggle to keep up with team that shoot high volume threes.

I’ll say it again. Ton of nba potential for Duke, but their youth makes them a super high candidate for an early round exit in March. They just don’t have the experience and composure in late game situations.

I think we’re solidly fine. Win against PU and then it’s all about the matchup. Reallyyy want to win one game at least just so we can play in a new years six bowl game and get to enjoy that atmosphere.

So I guess I haven’t watched much UCONN the past few years other than in the tourney. So maybe just didn’t realize this until now. But Hurley might be the most annoying whiner of a coach I’ve ever seen, and that includes Izzo, who I despised when he was young enough to matter and not washed up and hanging onto the program too long purely for his own ego. But goodness. Hurley relentlessly berates refs and gets about as much airtime from the camera as his team. I’m shocked he didn’t get tossed from both games in this Maui tournament. Great success the last two years sure, but he’s not someone I respect after watching him on the sidelines. And the announcers glorifying him because they’ve won titles as a “ferocious competitor” etc. Just looks like a whiny ****** to this observer.
