  1. You know, I did try to put my feelings about Woddy aside and look at this positively. The “fight” WAS better. But, watching the replay, I realized IU had to hit 13 out of 15 shots in the second half, and Miles Rice had to go unconscious from 3 uncharacteristically… just for us to lose this game at home by one. I mean it took a near miracle shooting display just to keep us in it. And we lost. We lose this game by 20 if we don’t get hot, and that’s as unacceptable as the end of game debacle we saw. No matter how gracious I try to be, this is another failure in a long string of them over the last four seasons. Your opinions are your own, but this one is mine.
  2. Feels like something a fifth year guy getting a good chunk of NIL would say to deflect blame from his coach. Kind of like the true fans comment at senior night last year. Maybe not. But this game came down to coaching and it was pretty obvious we weren’t managed well. Nice of Leal to try and take the heat. IMO.
  3. It’s kind of sad. He’s a scared man. He was walking out quickly because he doesn’t want to face the music of the fans frustration. He knows he should shake Willard’s hand. That’s not him. That’s his fear getting to him and just wanting to get out of there.
  4. This really just equals things out for the OSU road game that we should have lost. Some will call this a tough loss and say we should have had it, but that would then need to be a tough win, and one we shouldn’t have gotten. The record is what it says it is. We’re a poorly coached team.
  5. Help me understand this. With 5.9 seconds left we put a lineup on the floor without our two best shooters. But with 3.8… we get them in. ?? Did we think 5 and some change was enough time to pound the post for a while? What the actual hell was talked about in that huddle that led to that clown show last two plays?
  6. That’s your takeaway? You must practice meditation.
  7. You have to call timeout and get Goode in the game when the matchups are not working. The announcer even called it when they went up 10.
  8. I guess we’re at the point where we have to feel good about being close at the half at home? I don’t know. Felt like Maryland played poorly and we managed to let them have a lead into the break.
  9. Two of the better teams in the country. (Auburn the best in my opinion) But the game is 22-20 at the half. Ha. Those are old school Wisconsin offensives numbers right there. 13 of the points were free throws too. Teams shooting 21% and 28% from the field respectively. Combined 1-21 from 3pt. Yikes.
  10. In my opinion you’re missing a few, but either way I wouldn’t want to be pitching against UNC because they’re likely looking for a home run hire of their own if it came to that.
  11. Didn’t know about all that. From a distance I would be shocked if he turned over the keys any time soon. He’s only 62. And he has Adidas in his pocket and a recruiting pipeline that never stops. I guess Father Time comes for all of us, but he seems awnry (sp?) and unlikely to leave because of concerns and instead run it until it breaks. I could be wrong.
  12. But will either of them be a JuJu Watkins, Paige Buekers, Caitlin Clark type player? Or will they be more like Sydney Parrish who was a top 50 recruit. Good player. Program changer, very far from it. I’m rooting for it. But it’s more likely we’re going to need to stack classes of good to great 4-star kids four or five deep to have sustained success like we’ve become accustomed to now. Because without a JuJu or Paige or Caitlin, you need a bunch of high end players i.e. Ohio State or Maryland right now.
  13. Is this a thing? I honestly haven’t heard of him having any concerns.
  14. Feels like he rode fifth year guys Bacot and Love from the previous administration. Now that he’s working on his own the results are starting to show some cracks in his coaching abilities. The risks of hiring former players continues to rear its ugly head.
  15. One thing we haven’t really talked about is how interesting things get at the end of the season if UNC is also looking for a coach. They’re sort of in a similar situation to us. Feels like they’d have first pick over us in the blue blood pecking order.
  16. I hear what you’re saying and don’t disagree largely. I will say CTM is a hell of a coach and were lucky to have her. It HAS been disappointing we haven’t turned our on court success into recruiting success needed to sustain a winning program especially coming from a history as a very poor program. I think the biggest difference is the large disparity in the women’s game between a top 20 recruit and a top 150 recruit. The truly athletic generational type of talent is SO much better than the average bball player. Some of that is the rarity of tall, very coordinated girls. You see the disparity when you look at the scores of the UCONN, SC, LSU, UCLA, USC versus middle of the road teams. They win games by 40 or 50 points against average teams with recruits in the range that we have on our team. But there are less elite talent to go around in the women’s game, and if we’re being honest most of them end up at the same 5-10 programs. Parity is not very good in the women’s game. Watch the first round of March Madness or fill out a bracket. Not many good games or upsets. I feel like this makes it extra difficult for a program like Indiana to sustain success. When you DO catch lighting in a bottle and one of your top 100 players becomes generational (Holmes, Buss, Berger) you have trouble duplicating it after they leave. Heck, look at Iowa this year struggling after CC left. I genuinely hope CTM can work the portal and get things rolling again next year. Losing Chloe, Syd and Striplin is gonna hurt. Because like many of you, I’ve really enjoyed the last half decade developing a joy from watching the women’s team that I never had before because we weren’t relevant. I’d hate to see the crowds die down and enthusiasm wane. Let’s see how we rally the troops and if we can salvage the season to some extent. Every program has transition years. We just need to make sure that’s what this is, and it isn’t falling back to second tier as a program long term.
  17. The big ten is toughhh this year. And we just lost a generational player and the best 3-pt shooter in the country. Always going to be a rebuilding year. But I have concerns going forward because our recruiting hasn’t taken the next step. We will lose CMM and Syd this year and have not developed young women to replace them. Hopefully CTM hits the portal. And we need to start bringing in better classes or we’re going to fall back to a middle of the pack conference team even though we have a strong coaching staff.
  18. 16 turnovers and 25% from deep on the road isn’t gonna win you a lot of games.
  19. We only go 7 deep. Not a lot of options to “try.” One negative mark on Moren’s teams historically is depth.
  20. Almost forgot this is kind of a homecoming game for Syd tonight. I’m sure she’s wanting to show well. Really need to get more from Ciezki the last few games. She should be our sharp shooter.
  21. What time do you think these girls go to bed? It’s 9:30pm east coast time.
  22. Watched MD last night for the first time. He’s really good. Reminds me of a more athletic Thomas Bryant.
  23. I wish I could agree about matching up well. I hadn’t watched MD play until tonight. But they use those two bigs on the floor MUCH differently than we do. They’re long and athletic and move well around the perimeter. I actually think they might be a problem for our defense even though on paper it looks good.
  24. He’s done at the end of the season regardless. The admin is just being cautious about a mid-season change because not every coach and media person in the country has been watching for four years and understands. It’s maybe not a good look as a program to be moving on from a coach with a winning record and above .500 conference record. Unless a string of games or bad loss is in the forefront of things. Just let it play out. Our schedule is about to get hairy, and Woody isn’t learning to coach suddenly in February.
