A lot of poor performances, and our team defense is primarily to blame for the score right now. But the one thing I just can’t stand, is that we were down 6 thirty seconds into the second half. Could have been a game. As a coach, isn’t part of your job to identify what’s working and who’s playing well and use those to give your team a chance to win the game? Why are we so married to the starting five coming out for the second half?? Play the guys who give you the best chance to win. If nothing else; play the lineup that can keep the game from getting out of reach for as long as you can. That lineup to start the second half lost is the game. Got down 13. It was over from there.

News flash. Our starting five is not our best lineup. Left them in too long and lost the opportunity to make it a game. Why even start them together to start the half when you know it’s a bad combination of players? Brunk. Sit. You’ve gotten rejected at the rim five times.

This lineup (our starting 5) is noticeably our worst combination of players. Their +\- is why we are losing and Archie continues to put this group on the floor together.

Has there been more than four possessions either way without a commercial timeout? Geez. Does CBS do more commercials than B1G Network or ESPN? This is ridiculous.

Looks like another game where Brunk doesn’t have a good matchup on the floor. Davis and Race should split his minutes.

Was just thinking the same thing @BlueDevil After today MSU has lost 4 of its last 5 games. Same as IU. Their record is 17-9, IU is 16-8. Their only good out of conference win is against Seton Hall who I wouldn’t say is better than the FSU team we beat (especially as Seton Hall is losing 34-9 right now to Providence). Sparty gets the benefit of the doubt based on reputation but their record isn’t that much more impressive than IU’s and they are considered “a lock” and “a potential Final Four contender.” I don’t see it, and I think they lose at least 2 if not 3 of their games left against Iowa, @Maryland, and @PSU

@Uspshoosier How many at-large bids do you have the American getting? They have five teams with 18-6’ish records. Memphis being in 5th place in the conference. With SMU beating Houston, just curious. The teams themselves seem underwhelming. But because the bottom of the conference is weak they have sown good records at the top. Could they really get 4-5 bids??

And just like that, IU is one game out of a tie for 3rd place in the loss column.

Did Louisville really only score 14 points in the first half at Clemson? A team that is 12-12? This is the softest Top 10 I’ve seen in a long time. They’re down 39-19 with 15:00 left in the second half.

What gives with all the BTN+ games the last few weeks??

Been a low couple weeks, but consider this: Saturday there’s a real possibility 1) ILL lose at Rutgers, and 2) Mich St. gets beat by Maryland. Which would mean: Entering our game at Michigan on Sunday, IU would be 1-game back in the loss column from a tie for 3rd place in the B1G.

Pretty clear at this point in the season that there’s three tiers of teams in the B1G. Top 4, Bottom 3, and the middle pack. Rutgers losing at MSU was only game not chalk tonight. They’ve lost 3 of their last 4 and still have to play Iowa and NW yet. Maryland locked up the B1G crown tonight. Also, #9 Louisville with an impressive win at #4 NC State.

I saw that too. Dang. The reporter wanted him to get introspective or something. I thought he might cry trying to self-analyze himself as a person.

Instead of dwelling on how this isn’t the Devonte that’s showed up very often this season, we should all really be hoping this game was just what he needed for his confidence and he finishes out the year on a high note. Because he’s our most talented individual scorer. He’s a confident shooter. We need him to play well to have a shot at all in the next six games. Proud of his effort tonight.

Moren no faith in her bench? Tough to ride your starters 36+ minutes.

Come on HT. Plenty of games to hate on DG, but this has been one of his better games. Playing D and shooting well. Take a day off.

Goodness ladies. I was panic checking my phone the entire 4th quarter. Again, depth, we don’t have it. 2 bench points?? That isn’t gonna cut it. 2-15 from 3pt line? Illinois is an 11-12 that is 2-11 in the B1G. Gulbe was 7-9 from the floor and Holmes only took 1 shot. If the three isn’t falling against an inferior team, pound the post. Sheesh. It’s a win. But let’s forget it happened and move on.
