  1. He will re-appear very soon, and we will have good reason to keep the thread conversation about him and him alone ;)
  2. Ahhh, I must have misread that. I thought he said you wouldn’t know this guy as a shooter unless you saw him play in high school. JC would make more sense based on your interpretation of what OF said.
  3. This is an entertaining game and I genuinely am curious. I tried to think about realistic guys that fit the hint criteria and have interest in the health of the program who might be willing to get involved to maintain and grow the success of the basketball family 1) I was serious about Damon Bailey potentially being the guy. Damon was an assistant with the Butler women’s program until 2017 when he moved back to Bedford to help run the family’s company. Guy obviously knows a thing or two about how to shoot a basketball. 2) My second thought was maybe Jared Jeffries, based on the hint given that Jordan Hulls was the closest guess. Thinking maybe JJ due to him being a Bloomington native. Also it was mentioned he was making more money doing what he does now than to want a grad assistant job, and JJ is the president of Echo Fox, which is an eSports organization. But prior to that he was the Director of Player Personnel for the Nuggets, so he has experience working with young players. For a 6’11” guy, JJ had a really sweet shooting stroke and would be great. 3) Lastly, maybe Jared Odle. He was a guy that you might not think of as a shooter unless you saw him in high school, and someone who had an effortless shot in shoot arounds. Also Jared has stayed really connected to the IU basketball program and if you follow him on social media is always commenting on the health of the program and team. He’s currently coaching his daughters middle school teams, and in an interview talks about how he’s all about teaching the fundamentals. When he was asked about his future and what kind of coaching capacity he sees himself in as his girls go up to high school he said this: “I sincerely do love coaching basketball. I don’t like the game stuff as much as I do the practices, but I feel like I have enough knowledge and enough background that if I don’t use it to pay it forward then it’s kind of a waste. While the girls are in high school, I’ll take a backseat and just enjoy them and watch them play.” Kind of interesting. Not really looking to be involved in the on-court game coaching, but loves the practice education. Anyways, fun to speculate. Can I get a hot or cold on these guys @Old Friend? :)
  4. SDSU down a bucket at home to Colorado St. maybe a little hangover after falling from the ranks of the undefeated?
  5. Tried BC. It said “Brass Cannon cannot receive messages” ??
  6. Respectfully, 18 year-old kids have fragile egos. A change of scenery and reuniting with a good friend and being in a positive environment where you feel valued can make a huge difference.
  7. He was the #23 overall prospect and a 5-star recruit in the 2019 class. He is averaging 1.8 points per game over his last ten games. Kentucky has a 6-man class coming in next year of three five stars and three four-stars. They signed the #28 and #31 overall players which are four-star PF’s for next year, both 6’9” and the #4 overall player, a 6’7” five-star SG. Keion is a 6’7” F. This year’s Kentucky team goes 7 deep and Keion played 2 minutes tonight against Texas A&M. It’s safe to say Keion is getting recruited over, and I don’t know too many five-star Top 30 high school recruits that take that too kindly and don’t want to find a better situation.
  8. Literally sooo much can happen that would change our needs and scholarship situation. Consider this: NCAA May adopt a 1-time transfer rule, and even if they don’t, maybe he qualifies for a hardship transfer and Keion Brooks decides he was sold a bill of goods at UK and isn’t sticking around based on averages of 9 mins. and 2.3ppg. Suddenly maybe we don’t need Goode or Kaufman and can go all-in on Aminu and Christie. Hell, maybe we decide with what’s in-tow we shoot for the moon and give everything we got to try and get Franck Kepnamg pitching him on being a part of a #1 recruiting class. Maybe we have enough to get serious consideration from him with the #1 PG in the class Lotttttt to play out. But this commitment does change the scenarios and gives us an opportunity to be choosy and complete the puzzle with the next accepted commitments, which is a good place to be in.
  9. The quad system is just looking more and more flawed the longer the season goes. Wake has lost 11 of their last 13 games. Only North Carolina has a worse conference record. I don’t care where the game is played, that’s a bad loss. Trying to call a game at Wake a Quad 2 game, and compare it similarly to our Quad 2 game on a neutral court against Notre Dame, just doesn’t hold water.
  10. Ball game. Wake 113 - Duke 101. Doesn’t that hurt them the max in the NET for a 10-point loss as well?
  11. Duke about to go down in double-OT. Down 8 with :57 seconds to go. Just a reminder. Wake is 11-15 overall, and in 14th place at 4-12 in the down ACC. Yikes. I think this qualifies as a bad loss.
  12. Maybe more importantly, he can recruit fellow five-stars to come join him. Top 50 players loveeee joining #1-ranked PGs in their class.
  13. Wake up 4 on Duke with :36 seconds left. Haven’t watched them that often, but Duke looks about like an Illinois, Michigan or Ohio State caliber team. They might get a 2-seed, but they would have been a middle-of-the-pack team in the B1G this year.
  14. Now, floodgates. It always takes one first-mover. Have to imagine that caught the eye of Kaufman, Furst, Aminu, Christie, etc. In the immortal words of Jerry McGuire..... WHO’s COMING WITH ME??? Huh???
  15. Duke and 11-15 Wake Forest tied at 81 in OT.
  16. Do we assume he’s committing based on his class, or does a commitment indicate anything about a reclass?
  17. Confirmed by Landers on social media or just Evan Daniels?
  18. Cite your sources.
  19. Might be giving away the regional advantage as we speak. Only up 3 with :32 seconds to play. Loss to Wake has to drop them to a 3-seed.
  20. Sparty got some serious home-cooking from the stripes in the last six minutes, starting with a phantom foul in the lane when Henry went up with the ball and had it deflected, caught it and came down with it. Refs called a foul. Would have been Iowa’s ball up 8 with under six minutes to play. Drives me crazy that every timeout the camera pans to Izzo talking a refs ear off and it pays out end of games. Refs should be instructed to walk away from coaches. There’s nothing that says coaches have a right to tell a ref what they’re seeing and what needs to be called every time they’re near them.
  21. Duke only up six at 11-15 Wake. Duke is a #2 seed solely based on the fact that they’re Duke. They’ve been insulated by a weak ACC, but they are not a normal 2-seed. They will be ripe for an upset by a double digit seed.
  22. I’ll tell you this, assuming we do get in the tourney, I PRAY that we get in a region with Auburn as the 3/4 seed with West Virginia a 4/5 seed. I’ve watched several games from both teams, and they would be a SOFT 3-5 seed.
