It’s concerning when you add that context. Especially a night after watching Purdue, a team also playing for their tournament lives, go on the ROAD and beat Iowa handily. Any competitive team has the ability to turn it up a notch when there’s a sense of urgency. Not seeing it tonight from IU in half one.

Even if we have to play on Wednesday, but we still win the next two at home, I’m not worried I’m the least. To be 10-10 in conference and be the 11-seed is unheard of. Realistically, I think that just gives us an extra win playing Nebraska instead of possibly losing our first game and not getting that extra win against OSU or Mich as the 10 or 9 seed. And after beating Nebraska, a matchup with similarly flawed Iowa is winnable to potentially get a shot at an Illinois team we just about beat at their place on a neutral court. The fact of the matter is the B1G is just so deep this year, that where we end up on conference is not nearly as big a deal as what our record looks like. And if we win two more Quad 1 games and then get a W in the tourney, we’re sitting at 21-12 and are easily in.

Just getting home and turning on the tv. Really did not see Rutgers taking it to Maryland like this. Wow b

Wow, that granting of a TO to Baylor guy laying on the ground as he loses possession might be worse than the one they gave Illinois against IU.

I’ll say it if Chris won’t. :) Except I wouldn’t yet call it a “heavy” lean. But I like our chances.

I’m less concerned about what seed we end up, and more looking at how we end up with the best opportunity to win a few games. If home teams win out except for Maryland winning @Rutgers, Penn St. winning @NW, and Rutgers winning at Mackey against PU, we would end up with the 10 seed. But I’d much rather have the path of against (7)OSU in the quarters and the winner of (3)Wiscy/(6)Iowa in the semis, then have to play Michigan in the 8/9 game and then (1)Maryland in the quarters and then (3)PSU/(4)MSU. I’d take that 10-seed route over the 8/9-seed route all day.

Mine and Aaron’s posts were about the women’s team. Originally I believe Class of ‘66 Old Fart posted the bracket for the women’s B1G tourney, and my post was the updated bracketology that has IU women as a 4-seed hosting the first two games in Bloomington. Just an FYI.

So, what do we think? Does IU have a puncher’s chance of getting to host a couple NCAA tourney games? Looking at scores today and we got some pretty good help with Kentucky, Arizona, FSU, Iowa and DePaul all losing to unranked teams.

Just like the NFL did with pass interference reviews, the NCAA needs to allow for reviews of missed calls with under a minute in the game.

Gotta anticipate a pull up three with the shot clock under 7 seconds and an iso at the top of the key and stay up in your man’s face.

Do they test for steroids in college hoops? Because Cockburn looks like in his prime Shaq and he’s what 18??

Amen. Especially when you stream the game on your TV, so you have to watch the same three SoFi, USAA and B1G Conference commercials EVERY. SINGLE. TIMEOUT.

He helps off his man hunting blocks almost every play. I’d love to see a designed play where we back down to the post and throw a lob over to Race catching Cockburn cheating.

Weird. A more optimal lineup allows us to take a lead to start the second half. Who could have possibly predicted that? Only took coach 15 games into conference to make that adjustment.

Other than our usual slow start, a solid first half. Odds that the starting five comes out to start the second half and we go down by 6.... 90%

You gotta take the sweet with the sour.

Thing that bothers me, is we’ve scored 10 points since we brought in the second lineup. What a difference it would be if we started a game like that, instead of using it to get back into a tie game because our starters always go down 4-6 points in the first four minutes.

It’s so frustrating, because we basically have 30 minutes to try and win a game, because we will lose the first five minutes of every half.

I sound like a broken record, but I hate our starting five lineup.

Time to cut the chord. I’m all streaming these days.

Lady Hoosiers closing out the season looking like they’ve figured a few things out that had them playing some unnecessary close games during that little lull. Getting better contributions from the whole lineup. Looks like we will be the 4 seed with a matchup with OSU in the quarters and then Maryland waiting in the semis. Think the Terps just have too much for us, but 24-8 heading into the dance is a pretty good season and likely gets us a 5-seed. Great season. Think next year we will have a real shot at winning the conference.
