I agree wholeheartedly but if we somehow don’t make the tournament this year some posters on here will cite this recruitment as being another monumental failure on CAM’s part and use it as “proof” that he is a gawdawful coach. This is interesting to me. I, for one, am a proponent of shooting the midrange shot when it’s open. 100 years ago I was recruited by Grinnell College in IA. In speaking with Coach Arsenault at the time, he told me unequivocally that he wanted at least 50% of the shots taken to be 3s. I have to admit that as a teenager who could shoot I loved the idea of that. However, like fine gruel my opinions have aged. Now looking back on that conversation I am really turned off by that philosophy as defense wasn’t a real emphasis. I didn’t end up playing there but I loosely followed their program and don’t remember them winning a whole lot in that era.
