Transfer Portal w IU Interest
rcbowla replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Enright is a high IQ PG and an absolute pest defensively. He'll most likely be in the rotation and the kind of player that will be hard to keep out of it....a la Leal. -

Still not sure how Auburn being the #1 overall was rewarded with playing Creighton/Louisville in 2nd rd. This game has been fun to watch so far. -

I think you will starting next year. DDV's teams, if nothing else, play their ***** off. -
If BU goes to UT could McCollum be more interested in Illinois than Iowa?

Don't disagree at all. I think as a G you need to be an average shooter at minimum unless you are an elite defender, play maker, slasher etc. Different skills on a team are great to have. I think the problem for us the last 8+ years is that we'd only have 1 guy on the team that had the shooting skill. Not winning that way today. Need 3 guys on the court at all times that are legit threats from deep imo and of them 2 that can also slash. -

I heard DDV in an interview with WVU people answer this question. He said when evaluating people that skill is obviously important and preferred. Said they need to be elite at one thing and then he'll teach them the rest. Said he can teach anyone to become a better shooter. I'm paraphrasing obviously but it was close to this. Loved his answer about being "elite" at something. -
I hate every Purdue player that has ever been. If DDV wanted to bring one on staff I'll welcome them. As soon as they walk away though, I be hating again. Too lazy to look for Smokey gif to insert here

Samesies. I was born in 82 so I was too young to really have a good grasp on the '87 team but I was fully invested from '91 on. Greg Graham, Calbert and Damon will always be me childhood heroes.
-
I'm not trying to be negative and I'm happy with the hire but they are really, really bad beatings. And seemingly from teams that don't make sense sometimes.
-
Lol I get it. I expect a random wtf loss every once in a while and they are OK as long as they aren't trends.
-
I've liked basically everything I've watched from DDV's teams but there's this one thing. Every year they are good for at minimum 1 or 2 absolute **** kickings. I'm talking 25-30 pt losses. Seems odd and I'm not real sure why.

I agree but I imagine GM's still consider them to be important traits for a 1st rounder? Legit asking because I know you follow NBA closely -

I'm not an NBA guy and haven't checked any mocks but I doubt 1st rd. His speed and quickness will cap him. But he's got the kind of game that could male him a 10 year journeyman in the league I'd think. But idk crap when it comes to NBA talent. -

I've now watched 5 full games that span all 3 1/3 seasons of Tucker's career. Tucker has grown exponentially in his BBIQ from FR to this past season. I think he's often times possibly too unselfish. But man oh man he's going to have some games in AH that are going to have us fans on cloud 9. He's the kind of guy that can elevate his team from good to elite. Need a stud PG and I expect DDV to prioritize that position in the portal. His teams always feature a strong and smart PG. If Goode gets a waiver and you add that PG plus an athletic big then I think next year's team could legit contend for a B1G title. Tucker really is that damn good. -
Marty Richter a potential assistant? Was an assistant with DeVries his entire stint at Drake. Was at IU as Video Coordinator in 2008. This year was his 1st year as HC at USC Upstate where he went 6-26. While he may very well want to continue there as HC and understandably so, I would think AC at IU is more beneficial to him than his current position.

Good point. No clue on their SB schedule.
-
Trust me your opinion isn't important enough to bother me. I'm not going down this path and derailing the thread.
-
Pretty standard and generally the right thing to do in regards to telling your team you're leaving. Sorry I shared guys.....jeez
-
This guy was pretty level headed and balanced about the whole ordeal outside of this. Also I am well aware of how unreliable Locked On is which is why I said "if". Not saying it's true or false but this guy did seem a bit more credible than say IU's Locked On guy..... which isn't saying a lot.
-
I would also like to submit DX2 for abbreviation consideration.
-
FWIW: "Locked On" WVU guy said 2 current WVU players verified that DeVries left without addressing the team. That was what Small's tweet with crying and laughing emojis was about. "If" true that's not awesome.
-
Just want to take a minute and apologize to WVU people for continuing to take big dumps on them. They wanted to fire their FB coach and hire Cig (alumn) but instead we did. Then the very next year we take their BB coach. Don't feel too bad for them though if they get Calhoun because that dude will do well there I think.
-
Small point of contention but shouldn't it be D-Rock and not Drock. Drock sounds like a He-Man character.
-
Someone on the other thread made mention of terms that have lost all meaning now. I'd like to add "troll" to that list please.
-
For me? It's nothing personal. I just don't want anymore continuation of Archie or Woody. Exceptions are Jordy and Calbert.
