(2026) - Anthony Thompson to O$U
LamarCheeks replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Dude clearly was intimidated by knowing he'd always be the second-best Anthony Thompson to ever play ball at IU! -
Wow. Matthew Graves -- Indiana State coach -- needs triple bypass surgery. Taking a leave. Prayers to him. https://gosycamores.com/news/2025/10/20/statement-from-indiana-state-mens-basketball.aspx

Prediction League RESULTS Thread
LamarCheeks replied to Str8Hoosiers's topic in Indiana Hoosiers Football
My pick was very scientific. Outlined against a blue, gray 1988 November sky -- I sat in the Memorial Stadium stands as a college junior and watched 'roided-up Tony Mandarich and Sparty crush us 38-12. So for this year's tilt, I just reversed the score -- with the good guys winning. Turns out I was off by one damn point. I had visions of us holding MSU on their last drive to keep it at 38-10, then have 'Nando take a snap and run triumphantly out of the end zone for a 38-12 victory! -
Shohei Othani was the starting pitcher tonight. He threw 6 shutout innings, allowing 2 hits and striking out 10 to get the W. At the plate, he hit three homers. All in the postseason. Might be the greatest performance in the history of Major League Baseball.

Othani has THREE dingers and struck out 10 as the starting pitcher. Have a night!

Gonna take a crack at a little poetry. Beat MSU, we No. 2. Bucky gets it done, we No. 1.
-
Miami gonna go down.

I know everybody's watching hoops tonight (I'm not ready to resubscribe to B1G+ just yet), but Ohtani just struck out the side in the top of the first, then led off the bottom with an absolute bomb. Kind of a nice little tool to have in your toolbox. https://x.com/MLB/status/1979349690102747205

Ed Orgeron is reportedly interested in the Oregon State job. Seriously -- is there a more perfect match than Ed Orgeron and Oregon State? Please -- make that happen ... the future of Orgeron State depends on it. https://athlonsports.com/college-football/ed-orgeron-eyes-return-to-coaching-at-oregon-state

He played before any of us were around (though I think @Class of '66 Old Fart might have had a class or two with him), but any IU football Mount Rushmore absolutely HAS to include Pete Pihos. He was an end and fullback and was a three-time All-American. He even took time off from IU to fight in WWII. He played nine years with the Eagles, was a six-time All-Pro and two-time NFL champion. He was the first former IU player to be inducted in to the Pro Football Hall of Fame and is one of two Hoosiers (along with George Taliaferro) in Canton. So, here's my list: Pete Pihos George Taliaferro Anthony Thompson Antwaan Randle El
