I always thought Baker leaving Prior in during Game 2 against the Marlins played a little part. Cubs were up 8-0 after three innings and 11-0 after five, and Baker kept Prior in for seven innings and 116 pitches. Pull him earlier, let him rest and turn the game over to the bullpen. Prior said that when he needed to reach back and get "that little extra," he was always able to. But not in Game 6. Said he had nothing left in that eighth inning. Maybe pulling him earlier from Game 2 makes a difference. Maybe not. But he didn't need to stay out there that long in a blowout. I was at the Bartman Game. Still not over it. LOL.

Miami-FSU is on ABC and the ACC Network. Each has its own set of announcers. ABC -- through ESPN -- runs the ACC Network. How does that make any sense?

The whole ending to that game was bizarre. Iowa had all three TOs left, so we were trying to kill as much clock as possible before Nando would take a knee. But the officials kept blowing the play dead before he ever went down. Since it was fourth down and there were still 7 seconds left, I guess he wanted to make 100% sure the clock would run out and Iowa couldn't get the ball. Maybe Cigs told him to do that. He was PO'd about the way they kept blowing those plays dead so early. I never did see an explanation for it.

Playoff matchups. As a Cubs fan of 50-plus years, I have PTSD when it comes to the postseason and the Padres. Hopefully, it'll turn out better this time for the Northsiders!

Toiletmakers transfer made the game-ending interception. Had two picks when they beat us two years ago.

Crazy finish.

I love seeing people with disabilities getting opportunities they otherwise might not. But I think letting a blind man announce a football game might be taking things a bit far ... https://x.com/awfulannouncing/status/1972070329972674997
