  1. And Malik is gonna hop right on board and ride that bus to his next team…via the portal!
  2. Ok, it’s clearly time for a Woody intervention! Let’s soften him up to go easy on the buy-out.
  3. CJ’s auditioning for the portal!
  4. Armon’s on the bench, tapping Kenya on the shoulder…’when’s the next pay day?’. All aboard the tank train!!
  5. Calbert’s on the bench looking like…’what did I agree to come back to this mess for’. let the tank train roll on!!!
  6. But their average hours of sleep was top 3 in KenPom!!
  7. Team didn’t show significant or consistent difference when X was playing versus when he’s been out. All things point to significant turnover, and only McNeely coming in. Could Woody step up his portal game and hit a home run filling guards, shooters and other system deficiencies…sure. Is it likelier than not to get a complete roster w/talent required for success… No. Is there a lot of confidence in the system he runs? No. The current trajectory screams change NOW, bring in a winner with experience and success. Putting things off and trying again next year presents much greater risk than reward. New B1G contract money should help overcome some of the financial obstacles. Woody’s esteemed peers can work an intervention to overcome the pride issues and create a soft, amicable ‘retirement’ landing plan. The administration is quickly facing a decision point where it will be required to show its cards as to where its true commitment level is at regarding men’s basketball. Last time round, Dolson got crossed-over/ankles broken by BS and or others, thus bringing us to today. Gene Smith didn’t have trouble quickly deciding things at OSU to set the table for a potentially brighter future. We’ll know where this goes within a few weeks. Struggling programs rely on future hope to get through the rough patches. If they run this back next year and fail, any glimmer of said hope will be be depleted to a level perhaps not seen before. If the admin shows it isn’t serious, it will be very tough for the fans to be.
  8. My bad, tough to keep track of all those goofy Boiler 7 footers!
  9. Isn’t he the one who knowingly spread syphilis around campus like apple butter, and then got sued for it by many of his victims? I would say that makes him feel intimately a part of the Purdue family!! Syphilis you keep for your long livens, that sounds like a solid family commitment to me.
  10. We can build a big bronze bridge in front of SSAH, with Woody walking across..Biggie crown on his head…put a huge speed bump in the center of the bridge — ‘the inevitable hump’ and have a statue of Armon sitting in a comfortable chair on the other side—napping of course! Finally, it seems perfectly reasonable to negotiate the commission for said statue out of Woody’s $12M buyout.
  11. It’s Indiana…It’s Indiana!
  12. Complete and utter embarrassment! Woody needs to do the right thing and step down gracefully - leave w/some dignity and good will. He’s brought in around $15M in 3 yrs…that seems pretty fair to me. The train is off the rails. Beyond terrible results, the system looks dysfunctional on both offense and defense. Not going to get many high level kids signing up for that. The time for change is now.
  13. Revving up the Wishful Tank Train…to force Dull-son’s hand! Sadly, a ride this fan base has been forced to take all too often!!
  14. Woody says ‘hold my wine n cigar’…if he’s back next year, still scraping the barrel for serviceable guards/shooters, n Ware, Reneau and MM bolt.
  15. How much is the buyout for the 4 yr lopsided court advantage Kentucky series we just signed up for? Just asking for a friend who needs a W more than $$$. With buyouts, we may be the biggest contributor to KY education - ever. At least it’s going to a very needy cause!!
  16. If it only takes 1,100 pages, easy to create AI bot code to accelerate this FMer with unique comments real quick! Just say the word peeps!
  17. I think he watches Armond napping on the bench next to him, and thinks ‘hmmm…that seems kinda nice!’
  18. He takes power naps in the prime seat on the bench and cashes in a $250k state salary. If I was a prof at IU making half that (about avg. for associate prof.) teaching lots of classes and working my 8$$ off on research and publishing — I would be angry as all hell! This symbolically personifies the perception of Woody’s style - leveraging the position of head coach to garner the bene’s…but not recognizing the work it takes, and the need to make adjustments to change both negative outcome and perceptions!! I’m sure Armond helped Woody out in some key way(s) during his NBA career - so fine, he’s entitled to help out a friend. Placing him so prominently in the 1A seat, while he falls asleep, seemingly contributing little else is a bad look. Sadly, those power naps are about the most consistent product that comes off the bench!!!
  19. Excuses… 1) injuries - No X…all big level guard (lol) 2) young team, still coming together 3) just a really bad match up, sometimes that happens 4) ware and Reneau still nursing injuries 5) no one woke Armon up from his nap in time to get his invaluable strategic insight 6) woody still learning the college game, getting a leg up on that hump though…just be patient!
  20. The sleepy strategic wonder!!! Gets $250k in IN taxpayer $$$ to get in some massive power naps on the bench. He’s our secret weapon…just holding out for March!
  21. There is no bigger Captain Obvious than Bardo!! Man they need to reassign that dude to inside the production booth.
  22. This is the key…‘don’t have a new coach lined up yet’..in this day and age, with a business that is so fundamental to IU’s identity…that is where the complete mismanagement comes in. As with any major, successful business, there should ALWAYS be multiple contingency plans — and especially when you know there is a relatively strong likelihood of failure with your current leadership. At the point you get to a search, it should almost be a mere formality — ‘I’ dotting on contract negotiations - or in the worst case, finalizing among a few choice candidates. Seems like we’re always caught w/our pants down — starting a completely ‘organic’ search, a year or so late, and millions in buyout $$ short-which concedes power and gives way to perceptions of desperation. This falls 100% on AD leadership and the president and BOD’s support for being aggressive, but strategic and stealth. We operate like it’s still the 1950’s with a lot of hope. I’m not certain how sensitive the admin is to the current situation, but the knocking on the door is deafening, and likely not going away!
  23. What are the chances his team has him shut it down, Vonleh style? Put on the soft boot and wait until June.
  24. Tom Crean 2.0 baby!!
