This actually began in 2020 when Indiana beat Michigan for the first time since 1987. Consider this moment rock bottom for the Harbaugh era of Michigan football, and we saw what ”measures were taken“ the following season...
Now Indiana‘s immediate success under Curt Cignetti is contributing to the rapid firing of coaches all over the country. “If Indiana can do it then there’s no reason why we can’t have immediate success as well!” This is misguided and is getting a lot of quality coaches canned prematurely or due to irrational standards from their own programs. It’s quite incredible to watch.

I wouldn't count them out. Va Tech is in the ACC and Franklin has a really nice pipeline in DMV (An IUFB pipeline and we'll be losing recruits to them), two CFP wins under his belt and an INT away from playing in the National Championship.

Showing my age here but having personal experience with Blacksburg, back in the early 90s, the overall community culture in that neck of the woods are pretty fanatic about football. Moreso than folks in Bloomington prior to Coach Cig. What I'm saying here is coaching matters and the Hokies upgraded. Personally, I see them competing for the ACC and CFP championship in the coming years. I could be wrong of course. But ultimately, PSU really messed up letting Franklin go. 

Yeah the big winner in this year's coaching carousel is Va Tech. PSU will end up regretting their decision to let Coach Franklin go.

This one to me was a head scratcher. If it was the staff related, makes me wonder if he regressed this year. It also might have been he got a better NIL offer and IUFB wasn't going to match. 

No clue but as some have already noted a lot of these players have agents and they're getting paid to find spots. If I had to guess, and it's a complete guess pulling out of my tukus, I'd say a lot have a very short list already lined up or at least a good idea of their market value. I guess it just all depends on how good the agent is at doing his/her job in the grand scheme of things.

I saw that Franklin has already brought in a number of his former staff members from PSU and is targeting a large swath of his former PSU commits…this is going to get interesting…

We are also traveling to visit him this weekend

but ND is officially out after giving him an ultimatum. We are seen as the favorite going into the VA tech visit.
