2019 Off-Season IU Roster News and Moves
American HoosierX replied to CrossboneIU22's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Villanova has lived on kids in the 30-60 range. I'm very confident kids ranked around 50 on average easily outperform kids ranked around 125. I think the 30-75 range is the sweet spot because you are getting really good players that likely aren't going pro after 1-2 years. -

Shouldn't you be somewhere evangelizing how overrated Carsen Edwards is? -

Yes it is misleading and it's just a lazy analysis. Plus as mentioned you aren't taking volume into account at all. Lumping a low volume 20% shooter into a group that is shooting 35% overall is just dumb. He is not a guy that is keeping the defense honest so what is the point of including him. -

Steph Curry and Andrew Bogut are shooting over 40% from 3 as a group this year. -

The post I believe you are referencing was from Bailey on Feb 10th. Green was suspended in January so that timeline doesn't make sense. -
That is only part of his problem with being a perimeter player. Have you seen him play defense on the perimeter? He gets torched consistently. I went to the northwestern game and that guy Falzon who had averaged 2 points a game went for about 20 with Smith being his primary defender. I think his post defense is actually much better. Also where are you getting he is a pretty good ball handler? He is absolutely a below average ball handler for a perimeter player.

(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
American HoosierX replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I don’t know why I’m indulging this, but let’s make a hypthothetical timeline. 1) Keion announces at 8 2) Media obligations and talking to others he knows there lasts until 9:30 3) Somehow and inexplicably Keion breaks from his entire family immediately afterward and the three of them find a place to drink together by 10 4) They drink from 10 to 12:30 AM 5) TJD then begins the multi-hour drive home drunk 6) TJD gets home at 3:00 AM the night before a semi-state game There are almost zero universes in which this is a remote possibility -

It’s easy for me to buy the narrative that they want to support their good friend regardless of his decision. The idea that they are going to hang out, especially considering TJD’s circumstances, is borderline idiotic. -
And the other sad thing is that this is basically a home game. There are about 8 OSU fans here and the place has gone nuts every time we made a run.

I’m at the game and have pretty good seats. Not sure I could be less impressed with Romeo. Stupid plays and jogging up and down the court.

UNCG lost to Wofford on Monday.

Cool bro. Good thing you’re not on the committee

I don’t see how they can put Clemson in with only one quad 1 win. Isn’t that similar logic as to why Nebraska was left out last year?
-
Fair explanation. And my post below is in no way directed at you. I think it’s a stupid way for them to be looking at it for two reasons: 1) The new emphasis on wins by quad 2) The fact that 68 teams now get in instead of 64 Both of these things should make bracketologists question their old rules of thumb.

Can the Hoosiers go dancing?

That’s part of it but from my perspective it’s not that simple. -
Can the Hoosiers go dancing?

Thanks and follow-up question! Is the opponent's position within the NET rankings at the time you play them or where they sit at the end of the year what matters for quad classification? -

American HoosierX replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Sorry if it's already in here somewhere, but what ranking system determines whether a win is a quad 1, 2 etc.? e.g., top 75 win according to what? (RPI, NET, something else?) -
No I perfectly well understood your point, Illinois is going to come ready to play because they view this game as their super bowl (or insert favorite cliche). But we are playing for a spot in the tourney and they are not, so we better come more ready to play than they are. I guess I don't understand the necessity of pointing out the Illini's readiness if you expect IU to be equally or more ready to play. I have a feeling this discussion isn't going to go anywhere as we both have a defensible point of view, so I will leave it at that.
