I mentioned that the trenches scare me a bit. NB leads the BT in both sacks and TFL. Think we will quickly see how/if our OL will hold up. Its kind of hard to imagine, because I grew up when NB was an absolute power and they have been in the weak West division, but if Nebraska wins tomorrow it will be the first time in 8 years that they have qualified for a bowl and and the first time in 8 years that they have beaten a ranked team. Looking forward to disappointing them.

I can’t remember being more excited for an IU football game. Fair or not, from a national perspective this game will label IU as either contenders or pretenders. NB’s defense, and the trenches, scare me but I still picked IU by 14. Jealous of those of you that will be at the game. Have fun and let’s gooooooo.

Am I the only one that thinks Dolson should give Woody a big raise and extension to prevent him from getting poached by UVA ?

They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
DChoosier replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That’s an interesting take. In my mind Woody has to win big (yes, there are many interpretations as to what that means) to retain his job but your projection that this could be his last year, even if he wins big, makes a lot of sense. Win big and he might just take his victory flag and move on. All his friends/family/etc would tell him “you did it” “you turned things around” etc etc. Lose big and hopefully (who knows) the boosters and BOT will decide it’s time to make a move. To me the worst scenario, by far, is an “in-between” season. I really hope we either win big or lose big. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn

That is very, very funny comparing Knights days to what happens these days. Ignore these kids? Do you really think Knight made numerous home visits, hosted a guy numerous times, went to countless high school games, practices, AAU games, like Woody and the staff did for Sisley, Harrelson and Mullins? I have heard many ex-players say Knight visited their home (some of them didn’t even get a single home visit) and they then went to IU for a visit, were taken into Knights office and were basically asked “do you want to come here or not”. -
(2025) QB - Julian Lewis to Colorado (for now)

USC is a private school that doesn’t have to publish contracts, so what I read is probably a guesstimate, but Riley’s buyout is allegedly 88 million. I’m guessing there is a near-zero chance he will quit and leave 88 million on the table unless he has a job lined up and agrees to take “only” 40-50 million from USC. Yet another example of a university (USC, A&M, IU etc) getting glittery eyed and agreeing to an absurd buyout. -

Who knows. Maybe he won’t get the playing time he expects next year and we get him for 1/2 price the following year…LOL -
(2025) Edge Tyrone Burrus Jr. to Indiana
DChoosier replied to Lebowski's topic in Indiana Football Recruiting Forum
Three of the top 7 Indiana high school kids in the ‘25 class are from Warren Central. Sure would be nice to flip a couple of them (currently committed to ND, LSU and Louisville). Maybe Burrus will kick-start things. -
Coach Curt Cignetti to INDIANA... Forever and Ever, Amen!

I think his aspirations, and who really knows what those are, could possibly be a far bigger issue/factor than IU coming up with the compensation. I’m confident we will come up with the necessary cash but will that satisfy what he wants? Who knows? Let’s beat Nebraska Saturday. -

I have read JMU interviews in which Cig mentions his old recliner (although it was only 31 years old then LOL), he mentioned that he and his wife loved Harrisonburg and that JMU was his last stop. Sounds familiar, doesn’t it. Do I think he is being insincere in this current interview? No I don’t but things/perspective can change when new opportunities open up. We cannot know what he might do without knowing his career goal. Maybe he would love to finish his career rebuilding a traditional national power (Florida?) or perhaps he is happy at the current level he has reached (ie he finally landed a P5 job and a very substantial pay raise). Who knows, Cig might not even know but certain programs “sales pitches” might turn his head…or maybe not. All the speculation will be a moot point if we only win 1-2 of our last games but will skyrocket if we win 10-11. In any case I’m just going to enjoy this season. -
Braylon Mullins (2025) SG - to UConn
DChoosier replied to Barrel Rick's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
So was UCONN all over him before he became a 5 star? Just a really lazy take. I agree with many Woody issues but we have been all over Mullins for multi-years, have been to his home , games, practices, groveled the requisite number of times and have offered a huge bag. In your opinion what else should we have done???? The kid might just want to go to the program that has won the last two natty’s. If so, OK, but to spin it that the staff was lazy/late just isn’t true. -
UCLA has now lost to MN, IU, LSU and Oregon and their worst loss has been to …..The Hoosiers. UCLA has a really rough schedule. Won’t be surprised if they have a 2 win season.

They just showed Chip Kelly. I must have missed it but when did Kelly turn into Chris Farley ?
