  1. Ha. my wife has been saying that for half of this season.
  2. I agree. Looks like we are going to lose but this is better for the team than playing MS Valley fng State.
  3. Yes, I agree. Last year Hawaii in particular was a RPI disaster. That being said, I still think we should not be playing 300+ teams. Not looking for a big overhaul but moving three 300 type teams to 100-150 teams would be good for our RPI, team and fans.
  4. I still think 3 or so of the bottom of the barrel games need to be moved up to "near sure win" games. Liberty, Miss Valley State and SIUE should be upgraded to Indiana State type teams. There is a reason we won the Big Ten and got a 5 seed last year. The team is not motivated by these games and it hurts us with the committee.
  5. What do we get out of games likes this? I understand the money and win/loss angle of scheduling cupcakes but we have too many absolute bottom of the barrel cupcakes. Why not schedule 100-150 ranked or so cupcakes like Indiana State, Valpo or Vermont instead of the dregs of the basketball world we have on tap including Miss Valley State (Sagarin has them at 349 out of 351 teams) and SIUE (#316). My apologies to MS Valley State but there is NO WAY they should step on our floor unless they are on an Assembly Hall tour. I am not saying we need to play 8 top 25 pre conference teams, and am very happy with the KU/UNC/Butler/Prostitute U games at the top end of our pre conference schedule, but Fred needs to upgrade the cupcake lineup a bit.
  6. Again, I made it clear I was not referring to UM at the big house but rather games like the recent home game against PSU.
  7. Disagree with the fair weather (many of us have been on this train for decades) and "blink of an eye" comments. It is a Huge task to climb the IU football mountain but calling six years "a blink of the eye" is a bit melodramatic. I just want to beat a decent team every once in a while and that somehow turns into various responses such as expecting to beat a top 25 team every week, being fair weather etc. Does hoping to occasionally beat a decent team (and no I am not referring to beating UM at home) a sign of not supporting the team?
  8. While I agree it is good to not get blown out I am expressing a bit of frustration with the "close but no cigar" games. Last week, in my opinion, was worse since it was at home (and we made a ton of mistakes )against an overrated PSU team.
  9. When Lynch was the coach we blamed the coach....now it is the star level of the players that lead to the dumb second half mistakes?
  10. The good news is that we are still undefeated according to the "close" crowd :)
  11. We shocked them by running Redding on first down.
  12. most likely but we have still have a shot if we score on this drive.
  13. He was Clearly tackled before the ball arrived.
  14. Not to mention settling for the field goal on the prior possession.
  15. Under pressure we sure like to stop doing what works on offense.
  16. Looking good but maybe we will realize Redding around the corner is not working. What a difference a good D coach makes!!
  17. He looked nervous to me when he stepped up to take the first one but he drilled them. We are deep. Lots of positives but would have liked to see a few more stops down the stretch. Freshmen are going to contribute, in a big way, all season. Love OG, and think he will have a great season, but all the pregame talk about a guy that scored 5 points a game last year being the national player of the year seems a bit over the top. Getting WAY ahead of myself but this win might be a big deal when they seed teams in March
  18. A little better than our visit to Hawaii last year......
  19. The players seem to like Crean...maybe they are not swayed by the deep insight of our posts ?? :)
  20. I agree. They see that he is on them, get a first step on him, and put him on their hip, over and over.
  21. He has also talked a lot about spacing, transition O, having numerous good shooters, being tough to defend etc., etc.
  22. You can tell Bilas is not on this forum because he really, really likes Crean's O and how he runs his practices.
  23. Less than one half of one game but Cojo really looks like he belongs.
