  1. I get what you are saying but Archie obviously knew we needed another big, especially when Davis was out, but did not trust a second year player (that he saw every day in practice) enough to put him in. That told me all I needed to know.
  2. As my wife will attest....I know nothing. My guess,, however, is that the Watfords reached out because the following happened or looked possible: LSU out because of Wades problems Alabama fired Johnson Memphis-rumors that his AAU couch was leaving Duke - no offer yet and not clear if Hurt commits. IU as a fallback probably sounded good around the Watford family kitchen table. Now that the coach is staying at Memphis I bet it is them or Duke if they offer with us as a relatively far behind third choice.
  3. A shooter, an Alpha Dog (I can’t stand Harms but we need a guy like him) that is driven to win and a big man would be a good start.
  4. Nobody? You also stated “nobody” (!!??!!) blamed Crean for this year when in fact many people /posts have blamed him, his culture, his players etc etc.
  5. The Bawa, April players are long gone and had nothing to do with Archie’s first two years. The end of this years bench was Moore, Jake and Damezi. Two of them are Archie recruits and Moore did not play or practice one minute with Crean. I hope I am wrong but I think only 1 (or zero) of those three will become a solid contributor.
  6. EVERY post/point/side is the 94th time :) Archie better win Its the fault of the Crean players Coach K went 0-1,000 when he started etc, etc, etc
  7. Most years that would be awesome but when they are in the Elite 8, vs opening in the NIT vs St Francis of somewhere, I’m not as happy.
  8. He is an a***** and I would take him in a second. IU needs a couple of emotional d#$&s that play hard.
  9. Cline showed (not that we did not already know this) what a shooter does for the team. Without him PU loses by at least 10.
  10. It reminds me of Charles Barkleys golf swing. Just...really...bad.
  11. Cline is unconscious. I get sick/tired of the Crean references but did chuckle when my son said, when Cline made his 4th 3 in a row, “Crean would sit him now”.
  12. Is reading comprehension that difficult? I said I’m not a Crean fan, the team stunk, he is anything but a savant but at least the players on that first team seemed to give a s#*t and played hard.
  13. What revisionist mode? That Crean team stunk, only had one point a game Kyle Tabor as a returning player but at least they tried. This team was very frustrating. We just got beat at home by a team that only had three returning scholarship players (only one that played much) and has 10 new players on their roster. Somehow Marshall cobbled something together.
  14. Is there an official measuring stick? No, but the eye test saw games where guys did not get back on defense, were lackadaisical in their close outs, did not hustle back on offense or defense, did not work to stay in front of their men or make an effort to rotate to help, did not try to block out, threw lazy @$$ passes that led to unforced to’s, stood around on offense, had body language that belonged at a funeral, etc etc. Even the players admitted they came out flat in numerous games. I can’t believe this is even debatable. There is no question that having good shooters would make us look better, and win more games, but I’m not even talking about wins and losses...just play every game like you give a damn.
  15. What would you call him? Egotistical, bad UCLA coach with burger boys in a weak conference, underachiever at Iowa? On a positive note I would say he was one of my favorite IU players.
  16. I’m not a Crean fan at all but his first team of mutts tried harder than this team. We will just have to agree to disagree. Even Romeo and Morgan said we came out flat, as we did many times during the losing streak, for what was essentially the tourney play-in game against OSU. THE GAME TO GET INTO THE TOURNEY.
  17. I’m a grad that has followed the team for decades and do not recall another year in which I frequently (or ever) thought “I hope they play hard tonight”. Just baffling/sickening. Hope it turns around next year.
  18. I disagree. It’s been a huge issue as we have slept walked through multiple games while playing hard in others. Effort has been very, very disappointing/inconsistent.
  19. Yes, I think 24 hours is enough if he is deciding/torn between Duke and IU.
  20. I’m suprised the NBA is doing away with OAD as they are the biggest beneficiaries. They get to see potential OAD players play against decent (college) talent for a year before pulling the trigger on them. I highly doubt, as an example, Kwamie Brown would have been the number one pick and received a nice guaranteed contract if he had been “exposed” during a year of college. It would seem as though the players union would also like OAD as the straight to the NBA model gives 6-8 18 year olds jobs that would have gone to veterans. OAD is not particularly good for college basketball but I doubt that is of much concern to the NBA.
  21. That’s good to hear. In a Hartman/Risley podcast Collin mentioned how strong of a presence Green had in the locker room. Collin did not specifically state that was a bad thing but the way things were going for the team at the time I surmised that it was not a positive.
  22. Yes, Prohm and the HS coach at AL could change things real quick as would Hurt turning down Duke.. Will be very, very interesting for us if neither of those things happen.
  23. I have no “inside” knowledge from anyone but if Hurt does not go to Duke I’ll bet that Watford goes there. The drive is only a hour further than IU and a number of the ACC road games are closer. Coach K, Cameroon Indoor, their relevancy, etc will be quite a draw. Memphis seems to have lost their luster. That being said......would love it if we landed him.
  24. The players had multiple “must win” games prior to the 4 game win streak and the OSU BTT game. In many of those they started out slow, did not play hard and seemingly did not care what happened. I’ve been a fan for decades but if they don’t care, I also really don’t care what happens in the NIT. This season needs to be euthanized. I don’t recall any IU team that came out flat/lethargic in so many games. Very disappointing.
