Not much more than a brief mention of IU. Lots of work to do here, it seems.

If the connections are there and viable/active, then it's fair to think that with time, sooner or later, Coach Woodson will land a young man from there. It only takes one to fully open the door, I would think.

Our portal players were mostly bad. I'm speaking of Kopp and Stewart.

I know there are folks who make a case for Kopp, but I simply can't see it or buy it. The young man may be a terrific spot up shooter...and have certain positives on defense, but they aren't significant enough, IMHO, to offset his mediocrity overall when it comes to athleticism and ball handling and speed. Guys say what a great stretch 4 he could be, but a 4 has to rebound and Kopp...well, I just don't see him in that role.

Any concern regarding level of competition in his high school classification? I believe 3AAAA?? out of seven classes. Just wondering.

Maybe that's where NIL $$$ come into play??

Frankly, I never understood all the love for Fife as a coach? So he spent ten years with Izzo. Big deal. MSU didn't seem to miss whatever he brought to their team.

I wouldn't use the word that you chose, but a number of our kids are very average either athletically or in basketball skills and/or basketball IQ.

Our offense is as good as you're going to get from this roster that Coach Woodson mostly inherited from our previous coach. Talk about $$$ wasted. Give Woodson the time he deserves. He's managed to get IU back to the tournament...beaten Purdue, Michigan, Illinois... so I think we should be pretty damn happy. BTW...he's quite a bit smarter than all of us when it comes to basketball either college or NBA.

We don't have any shooters. None. Kopp...no...Stewart... no...Race...no...Phinsee...no.

Hmmm...wants to go where he can "rock out"..."the ball in my hands"..."run and gun"..."early playing time." I know we want/need offense, but there's a defensive element that Coach Woodson requires, if you want to see the floor. Wonder if the young man is aware of this??

Go back to first post. Young man's doctor projected 6-10. His dad is 6-9 and mom is 6-3.

I agree with you regarding IU's lack of consistency. For me, the answer is that we need a big upgrade in talent. Woodson has done, in my opinion, about as good as can be expected from this group. And I like who we are recruiting for the future.

At this point in IU's season we all have opinions on how the Hoosiers are doing/playing. I saw a post (not sure if it was here or HSN) where a poster stated that he hated Wisconsin, but was envious of their program. I'm just curious to hear what teams/programs, if any, folks here wish IU could be more like in how they play the game of basketball. I usually enjoy how Villanova plays because they normally shoot well along with having good ball handling skills. They play what I see as smart basketball. But I do agree with the guy who mentioned Wisconsin also.

Seems like the videos of him that I've seen (not a large number) show him racing quickly down court with the ball and driving through numerous other players, who do very little to stop him, leading to Miro dunking. There's a certain reckless quality about his play. That's how I would describe what I've seen/felt. Again, this is first impressions on my part. As long as the staff believes he's a worthwhile recruit, I'm fine.

Well, that's a shame. But this happens and all we can do is trust Coach Allen to find an excellent replacement. Go Hoosiers!!
