  1. But did JR get access to the hookers for his trouble?
  2. Here's one article... it's written from the perspective of Big 12 Football (Texas A&M)... but lays out the process fairly well... and it talks about the athlete having been recruited for a sport (or sports), and how that lines up with awarded scholarships. Interestingly, also, is that the process was instituted to prevent circumvention of the rules... http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/tam/genrel/auto_pdf/comp101-4-multi-sport-sas.pdf "In football, a counter who was not recruited and/or offered financial aid to participate in football and who competes in football and one or more sports (including basketball) must be counted in the sport of football."
  3. I remember reading something a while back pertaining to scholarships and multi-sport athletes. There is a definite "pecking order" for deciding which sport scholarship the athlete receives... but I don't recall the specifics... will try to find that article...
  4. Except MSB... he missed a couple of games this past season for some bogus deficiency because he has a double major...
  5. His statement was correct... "the job" is the HC job at Akron... IF Groce ges the Akron job, then he's saying that Lewis will get the IU assistant job.
  6. IMO, Crean is not a "good man"... his behavior is borderline psychotic, given his Jekyll-Hyde personality ... in his mind, he's clearly the second coming of the Wizard of Westwood ... but as we all know, he's a really bad, underachieving coach ... doesn't see the obvious (that his job is in jeopardy) ... and gets totally blindsided by his own firing ... and after spending 3, 4, 5, 6 years avoiding the media, now he's suddenly a self-appointed toastmaster general. He just needs to move along ... Indiana has had enough drama at his hand ...
  7. Good? Maybe. Solid? Perhaps. Amazing? Not happening. Period.
  8. Waaaahhhhh! Everyone on my team left and I wasn't ready for it... can I have a "do over"? What a freaking tool... good riddance, FCTC.
  9. Yeah... saw that after I posted... a fact related to reading the forums top-down.
  10. Archie is NOT from the Philly area... Beaver Falls, PA is near Pittsburgh... 40 miles away... and almost 400 mles from Philly.
  11. https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-seth-davis-podcast/id1173658500?i=1000383308313&mt=2
  12. I remember seeing FCTC's contract (pdf version) online a few years back... anyone found Archie's IU contract? Certainly a FOIA request would produce it...
  13. I am amazed at how blind or ignorant Tom Crean is/was of the facts... With all of the chatter about the coaching situation at IU, with all the speculation about the end of the Crean era, the refusal of Glass to extend Crean... the rumors about the imminent coaching change... and Crean honestly had no idea that the end was near? Now this comment about being with Cody/Vic every day and having no clue that they were leaving, or having no contingency in place in the event they did... and a similar situation with Noah Vonleh... Add to that the absolute CF that The Movement was (save Yogi)... You have to wonder about Crean's ability to read the situation... perhaps that was also a factor in his inability to make in-game changes and adapt to the game as it unfolds.
  14. Don't knock FCTC... he did find a way back to the #FinalFour... http://www.crimsonquarry.com/2017/3/30/15125822/tom-crean-espn-final-four

  16. That's kind of the point. If Glass texted him "you're fired, let's meet" that's one thing. If he just said something like "we need to talk", it's quite another.
  17. I think we're pretty close to beating a dead horse … but as I understood it, Glass may have spoken with Crean's agent, but not Crean as of the night before … and Glass texted Crean the next morning requesting a meeting … Crean knew or understood that he would be fired, and chose not to meet. IF that was truly the case, then he had not (yet) been fired, he owed it to his boss to meet, as requested. Just because you anticipate a bad outcome does. Or excuse you from meeting with your boss.
  18. My only point would be that Dakich has been on Glass' @$$ since the firing for not meeting with Crean. I have no reason to suspect that Crean put him up to it, but it just looks like piling on from where I'm sitting. Of course, Dakich is a professional D-bag, so that has to factor in somewhere.
  19. Running away from a problem or situation is never the answer... just my opinion. I suppose that one could paraphrase RMK and say "if getting fired is inevitable, just lay back and enjoy it"...
  20. Yeah, I agree with this... Dakich has been all up Fred Glass' butt for "never calling Tom Crean"... and he hit on it again in the "interview"... but the fact remains, no matter how FCTC tries to spin it, Glass contacted Crean and Crean refused to meet with him, as reported in SI, and basically confirmed in the conversation with Dakich: Despite all the warm, fuzzies that Crean is trying to spin, that is NOT classy. That's being a d!ck and refusing to own up to anything.
  21. You really can't do that... a lot was said just in the way they talked... Dakich gets old real fast, and Crean makes me crazy with the way he says things... but with that said, it was a really good conversation... not sure I'd call it an interview. And not to derail this thread, Dakich did say something that made me go "hmmm"... he said that he wanted to tell Archie that when you are the coach at Indiana, that it never ends well. It ended well for himself because he got out of coaching... but he went back as far as Lou Watson and said that it didn't end well for any of the coaches ... not Watson, not Oliver, not Knight, not Davis, not Sampson and now, not Crean. None of the Indiana coaches ever "ride off into the sunset", as it were...
  22. The SlimeCats and their fans are not capable of being classy. Never were.. never will be... attacking the ref's business via fake reviews is pretty much how they roll...
  23. How much of the "first ever" with the IU head coach is on them and how much was on FCTC? I've heard many reports that Crean didn't like doing the local interviews... and avoided them whenever possible... the old "lead a horse to water" adage comes to mind here...
  24. The BTN is airing the press conference, starting at 2:50pm EST... I'm sure there will be other coverage, as well... but set your DVRs or plan to tune in.
