Hey, Pot... have you met Kettle? IMO, there's nothing worse than a sanctimonious former cheater now beating the drum to punish other cheaters. He's a hypocrite.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
AZ Hoosier replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That has to bode well for IU's shot, correct? The only other schools close to his home are soon to be sanctioned Louisville and UK, in which I've heard he has little interest... -
Q: How do you know the toothbrush was invented in Kentucky? A: If it had been invented anywhere else, they would have called it a "teethbrush". #rimshot Q: What do you have when you get 32 Kentuckians in the same room? A: A full set of teeth. #rimshot I'm here all week... try the veal.

The best part of having said "recent and troublesome history" is that all of our problems were caused by an a-hole coach with a history of such transgressions, and the fact that we self-reported the issues. We may have never had the NCAA come after us without that self-reporting... of course, then we might still have the coach who shall not be named (but who has multiple cell phones). My point is simply this... given the self-reporting aspect of our "crimes", and the recent black mark on the program, it's highly unlikely that we would be involved in any of this... we aren't Kentucky, Lousiville, UCLA, UNC, etc... and in this regard, that's a good thing.

Thanks... interesting that they cannot manage to get out of their own way...

Do you have a link that supports the Crean-Johnson connection as the reason that Louisville passed on Crean? One could argue that there are plenty of other reasons to pass on him... but don't want to take this thread off into the weeds.

I am truly curious about who would be willing to recruit those guys... UL lost both of their recruits yesterday (Anfernee Simons and Courtney Ramey) ... and Bowen is out (has he lost his eligibility yet?) ... but IF (big IF) there was some impropriety with their recruitment ... and for the sake of argument, we may have to assume there is, who would be willing to jump into that cesspool? Inquiring minds...

IMO, the solution is to use the baseball rules... you can go "pro" out of HS, but if you sign with a college, you MUST STAY three years. The UK model of going to class for one semester, blowing classes off for the 2nd semester, then going to the draft is what's killing CBB, again, my opinion.

You have to love Congress... can't miss a good opportunity to "pile on". Where were they when this was all going down? Obviously, they weren't busy passing any meaningful legislation...

That crime is also known as "Blab-hand", after Ewe.

for impersonating a division 1 basketball player? :D

Arizona (Tucson), NOT Arizona State (Tempe/Phoenix metro).

Awesome. New BB/FB unis!

When I was a kid, Red Ball Jets made me run a little faster and jump a little higher. :D And don't forget Keds and P.F. Flyers...

I completely agree. If your name is on the door, then you own what happens there. End of discussion.

Yeah, innocent until proven guilty... but if it walks like a duck...

For me, it's not so much about "wishing it upon other teams", as much as it is wishing that the other teams WHO ARE DOING THE SAME THING also get hammered for their actions.
-
My question here would be relative to "guilt by association". If a school like Louisville is one of the first dominoes to fall, and slick Rick is the first head coach to get axed, and at least one of the assistant coaches on Pitino's staff is implicated, how can one, with a straight face, claim that other assistant coaches are not involved to some extent? And I define "involved" to include everything from having their fingerprints on the evidence, to even knowing that something was going on. There are sins of commission as well as sins of omission... and when the cesspool is this deep, is one really more egregious than the other?

My apologies but this thread is way too long to try to catch up at this point... My questions: Have all of the pseudo-names been identified yet? University-1, University-2, Coach-1, Coach-2... etc? I understand that "university-6" is Louisville... but has anyone decoded it all? We all know that the NCAA is at best a paper tiger, and probably just as corrupt as these coaches/assistant coaches and shoe companies... but can we finally get the crap that happens at UK, KU, UNC, et al out in the open and have it finally dealt with in a fair way? Run those coaches involved out of town on a rail...

I would love to see the B1G use the same divisions for basketball as they do for football... the league could move to a 19 game schedule - home/away with the other 6 teams in their division (twelve games total) and one game each against the teams in the other division (another 7 games, for a total of 19 league games). The NCAA tournament automatic qualifier is decided by the B1G tournament anyway... but the regular season champ could be decided by a one game playoff or by best overall B1G record... that would eliminate the one game situation against one's biggest rivals, and perhaps create new rivalries within the divisions... Going to a home/away schedule will all 13 other B1G opponents is just not practical, given the number of marquis match-ups, pre-conference tournaments, B1G-ACC challenge type scenarios... but the divisional setup could really work. Am I the only one?

When he first got to IU, he was quite active on twitter with mostly religious posts... and occasionally basketball-related stuff... then things at IU started downhill, the "Coach Clappy" crap started, and people started replying and tweeting at him about his coaching style, etc. When this first happened, he started blocking people who were critical of his style/ability/performance, and eventually just stopped tweeting altogether... now that he's not coaching, there is nothing for the masses to criticize, so he's back, sharing his wealth of coaching knowledge for all the world to absorb. At least that's how I see it. (I could be wrong.) :D

He blocked me too, many years ago... it's good to have multiple accounts. :D
