I read somewhere that Woody's buyout after this season is $12.5M. I have to wonder of the boosters and donors who fund such things ever get tired of shelling out big bucks to make coaches go away, only to see Glass, Dolson, et al rinse and repeat over and over and over? I'd be like "I bailed your butt out once, you're on your one this time, Scotty boy".

Well, it's no easier for us old guys... I graduated in 1977... but that doesn't change the view at this point. Having seen "the glory days" make what we've been spoon-fed since the late '90s an embarrassing and disgusting product. Sure, we get a team here or a run there, but over all, Indiana basketball has died a slow, painful death over the past 25 years... and the future is darker than ever unless something changes in a big way.

My only issue with splitting from Woody after year 3 is the message that it sends to potential coaches... but the more I chew in this, maybe it's the right message: "Come to Indiana. Build a Winner. Or get fired." And Dolson needs to back that up by not creating these situations where he has to raise money to fund massive and ludicrous buyouts. The buyouts should protect the university's investment in the coach, but not handcuff them when the feces hit the rotational air movement device.

Woodson is too stubborn to make the necessary changes to what he wants his team to do... and he ignores the fact that he recruited a bunch of players (I almost used the word "team" there) who cannot or will not play the style that he wants to play. We have a poorly constructed roster with gaping holes that is incapable of guarding the perimeter and guards who are incapable of scoring points. Folks, this season is toast.

The issue is that Woody doesn't have the pieces to fix the guard play.
