  1. Just got this text from a buddy in Bloomington: People started lining up on Kirkwood at 9:00 pm last to get tables at Nick’s and the Upstairs Pub. The windchill is below zero. That’s dedication! Let's do this! #NeverDaunted
  2. We all know that this is no place for reason. We're Hoosiers. :D
  3. That's awfully accommodating of you.
  4. Let me ask you who you would be able to hire today? Any coaches worth their salt are coaching and would not leave their team less than 20 games into the season. So you want to fire DeVries and run a lame duck coach for the next 20 games? What kind of positive press and revenue stream do you project that getting us? DeVries may or may not be "the guy", but he's gonna get at least 3 years, so just buckle up and enjoy the ride. Remember RMK's comments to Connie Chung?
  5. Of course if an SEC school had made it to the finals, he'd be saying that the whole NFL would be overshadowed by their performance. What a piece of crap troll.
  6. Unfortunately, I don't see this being the last time that happens. I'd love to be wrong.
  7. That didn't take long. EIGHTEEN games.
  8. Like every game this year, I'll be in my office with the IU Lamp burning bright!
  9. Why is only one of the DePaepe bots out? Both transferred.
  10. Didn't know that about the liver... both are good analogies for what we're dealing with.
  11. Sisyphus is nore accurate, IMO. Every time we hire a coach, we start up the hill. About 10-15 games in, the rock starts to slide, and before we know it, we're back at the bottom of the hill. With Prometheus, once the liver was gone, it was game over.
  12. I am stupefied! I tell you, I am aghast, bewildered, confounded and dismayed.
  13. ESPN “Megacast” viewing options for national championship include synced up Don Fischer call https://www.thedailyhoosier.com/espn-megacast-viewing-options-for-national-championship-include-synced-up-don-fischer-call/
  14. Duh. We've been saying that for months. Way to catch up, Mel.
  15. Ah, yes, the calendar posters. My aunt worked for an insurance company and they would get the posters a few days early. Dad would pick them up and mail them to me. It was a glorious day the day the poster arrived.
  16. Yeah, the thing that I remember most was the absolute dearth of recruiting info. I graduated in '77 and moved to Arizona in December of that year. I remember my dad sending me care packages of clippings from the Star about Knight, the basketball program, etc. Then around '82 we got cable and could watch the games on WGN and similar. Before the glut of basketball on cable, I remember being able to pick from 2 or 3 stations to watch the IU game. After following the '76 team in person, on campus, imagine being exiled to Arizona for the '81 and '87 championship runs.
  17. Wonder what Brunner's payday looks like? I'm not overly concerned, as Cig has proven to the donor$ that he knows what he's doing.
  18. As a Hoosier basketball fan, I feel for you both.

  20. I remember more than one instance of RMK sitting the underperforming "stars" in favor of the bench guys to get the attention of the so called "stars" and to make a point. Isn't playing some of these guys the very essence of "next man up"?
