The new players are seeing what road games are like and the sophs are being reminded. Even with our shaky play, we can win this game if we can avoid further foul trouble, guard the 3 better, and avoid foolish mistakes (including jacking up shots from 5 feet beyond the arc).

Not going to beat any good teams when your best & most experienced player is sitting. on the bench with foul trouble.

Can't get into foul trouble when we're already short-handed, especially on the road.

Really, it's best if Arkansas (and other road games) is a hostile environment. The young players need to learn how to deal with it before BT play. I think we're going to be pretty good and other conference teams and crowds are going to be "up" for us.

Agree. Having Durham and Phin play steady and solid at the point will really pave the way to success.

I have to wonder if the staff has put themselves (or allowed themselves to be put) in a "pickle". Pretty much all the eggs are in the TJD & KBJ baskets. I'm not sure if there are alternate plans in place or what ever, but the potential is there for a lackluster recruiting class when a blockbuster was expected. I still have confidence in Archie and the staff and look forward to seeing how things work out. However things transpire, the season has begun and the focus needs to be on the players wearing C&C, not on teenagers just " enjoying the process" of recruiting.

Good article that confirms some of the pro's and con's of the proposal. I thought M. Hurt's dad had an interesting comment about what he was going to study in college (basketball).

I did not realize he was a lead recruiter at FLA. I rescind my comment.

One thing to consider: This would have occurred last summer. This staff was just beginning their first recruiting class and Ostrom (presumably) had no experience in recruiting the elite level players. His idea of being "super willing" might be much different than that of your typical UK, KU, UNC, UL type recruiter. The fact that the player never visited or was offered give me no reason to be either concerned or suspicious.

He's still considered legit for many. He posts on message boards as coachss or something along those lines.

I was just thinking something similar. Kentucky is renowned for a long history of cheating, but Kansas has a similar long history of ignoring the rules. Larry Brown, Williams while at KU, and now Self.

And don't forget self-reporting NCAA violations. That one's a big no-no.
