  1. I put crappy FT shooting squarely on the players. Same goes for intensity and pride.
  2. I was thinking about posting the same word. He has plenty of talent, and (apparently) lots of potential, but no grit or killer instinct.
  3. I don't disagree. But we have no control over it, so we can (try to) have patience or just be miserable.
  4. There will be no quick fix, that's for sure. As much as we're all sick of it, we need more patience.
  5. We have seen nothing in this game we haven't seen frequently before. 18 games in and it's hard to see a dramatic improvement the rest of the way. Either the talent isn't good enough to play better or the coaching isn't capable of getting more out of them. Whatever the case, I don't have much hope for the rest of this season.
  6. Yeah, I have to admit that the fool on the Purdue board did get one thing right - Romeo is a bad 3-pt shooter.
  7. Bottom line: we don't have 1 reliable shooter.
  8. Purdue gets shots from Cline, we get shots from McRoberts. Yep, that'll get us back in the game.
  9. I hope and believe so. His loss has been a huge blow to this season.
  10. Have you seen him shoot over the past month? I, too, appreciate his heart and effort but when he's on the floor we only have 4 options on offense.
  11. Big Ten officiating is outright ****. Either profound incompetence or intentional bias. Sick of it!
  12. Al's shot clearly blocked after it hit the board - predictably no call.
  13. Romeo not locked in. Standing around, then not taking care of the ball. He needs to get in gear.
  14. Haarms must be pursuing a degree in. "Dramatic Arts", LOL
  15. Morgan whacked on the arm and no call
  16. Might explain the lack of PT...
  17. That charging call on Rob was pure bull crap.
  18. The only way we can have a good start on offense is to get it inside because we are a horribly bad shooting team. Opponents know this and will clog the middle.
  19. Gives appreciation to what we did in 74-76. Undefeated in Big Ten play for two, 18-game seasons.
  20. Is Fitzner a good student? If so, could that be part of the reason he was brought in (to boost our APR)?
  21. I have been of the mindset that Hunter would and should redshirt on account of how far into the season we are, or will be. But, after some thought maybe not. If he is healthy enough, and the doctors and his family are convinced he's in the clear medically, I say let him play. Not only would he be eager to play, but it gets him some experience for the future. If he is a future NBA player, "wasting" a year becomes moot. Also, facing what we believe to be a significant medical issue (hopefully in the rear view mirror now) may hasten his time table for going pro, idk, but it wouldn't be unreasonable. Finally, this thread is 22 pages in under two months which is indicative of how extreme the problem has been this season.
  22. Speaking of the hook shot - really an impressive skill to have, especially for a guard. I thought the little hook Moore put up in the first half looked like he's been working on it (nice form). He needs to start making them. On the subject of bad hands, it reminds of one of the best message board user names from a while back: "Handsofblab"
