  1. Moore is a sophomore while Forrester is just a freshman. Perhaps the coaches see aa greater benfit to getting JF minutes and experience (IDK). With our lack of big bodies, injuries to Davis (and Morgan at MSU) and frequent foul trouble, it's not a good sign that a second year player still isn't able to provide spot minutes on a regular basis.
  2. Clearly this team took a big hit in their development with all the injuries, but it's clear we are very flawed with our current talent level/roster makeup.
  3. Do we ever! I just wish we had some reason to believe those shooters are on the way.
  4. I doubt we have 1 player that opposing fans fear.
  5. Archie (apparently) feels he doesn't have a better option than a fifth year player that brings essentially nothing and a freshman. Meanwhile we have a player with a full year and a half with the team, not hampered by injuries, who "isn't ready".
  6. It's inconceivable how we can have such a lack of shooters and hustle at home. A team like Iowa can have multiple deadeye shooters AND two big guys up front, while we have no shooters and no size. That needs to change, and soon.
  7. Devonte Green has been a major liability in this game. Just awful!
  8. Coming up at halftime: Archie is interviewed by Bilas as they ride jet skis on the football field.
  9. With the way we shoot, I don't know why anyone wouldn't play zone against us.
  10. or Neil Reed? Dang, we have a long history of shouler dislocations...
  11. I think we've found the winning formula: Fitzner has to drain a three.
  12. Funny how knocking down some shots makes everything better. Damn, we were due!
  13. You could stand a tetherball pole in the lane and it would provide the same level of defense as Fitzner provides. On a related note, if a 2nd year front court player isn't good enough to get minutes when we are short-handed up front, with foul trouble, and as stated above, that player may not be good enough to be in this league
  14. Big ten refs are dreadful across the board.
  15. Izzo is an a-hole.
  16. Lol. Fischer's call: Evan Fitzner with his first three in forever.
  17. Either my feed is way behind or you're some kind of damn Amazing Kreskin! lol
  18. Same. Tonight I also realized I hate watching him cross country ski.
  19. Not to take a shot at them, but that's about all they did (or ever do) - be on the court.
  20. The subject of trying something different is very interesting to me. I can see where a coach would be hesitant to do so if it's something he really believes in, has had success with in the past, and feels he will need to stock the roster with different players that suit his style of play. He also has to recognize that the longer the futility drags on, not to mention failure to win big, things will only get worse and worse for the program. One concern I have is that his system worked at Dayton where his team was allowed to mature and they played with experienced players (i.e. stability). Now at IU he's trying to recruit blue chippers, guys like Romeo, who may not be here long enough to perfect their game. When you have frequent player turnover, from starters, it seems like you'd better run a system that the players can pick up and execute in short time. I don't think a complex, finely tuned style of play is well suited to a constantly changing roster. And if you're bringing in 5* talent, you're going to have early departures. It's a judgement CAM has to make. I'm too dumb to know what the answer is.
  21. I'm not blaming the S&C coach for the injuries or lack of doing what he's supposed to do. That said, I don't see our team being better than any other as far as strength, quickness, endurance. Also, I've kind of had it with what appears a focus during the off season on S&C, jumping contests etc.. The players are here to play basketball and win games, not win body building contests and set records for NBA combine skills. Scrimmage. Practice your jump shot, your rebounding skills (cough, holding on to the ball), and work toward at least being a mediocre FT shooting team (would be huge improvement). It seems like our guy runs things like an NFL training room (where he comes from), where a lot of players work on specific skills or brute strength - basketball players need to supplement playing basketball with training, not make it their main focus.
  22. I desperately hope so. Last season we were deep in tunnel, and two short months ago we thought we could see the light. Now it's dark again and many of us don't know what to think or believe.
  23. That possession where we got three shots at the basket is the only time I've seen one of our plyers actually playing with fire (Damezi).
  24. At least we have 1 player that has shown some improvement since arriving.
