  1. If it doesn't, just put a big "Edey" patch on the back of his jersey to confuse the zebras. lol
  2. This is along the lines of what I'm thinking. It's been stated that they want to build primarily through recruiting and use transfers as a supplemental path. Perhaps the thought is to spend big to build a good, albeit incomplete, foundation that they can then give PT to freshmen and Sisley. Probably with the goal of top 5 in the B10, comfortably in the tournament, and a good chance to win a game or 3. I like this strategy (if it IS what the vision is), but it necessitates a successful recruiting class of '27 kids. I doubt the intention is to spend like drunken sailors every season.
  3. Ruptured Rafters is floundering. They even have a thread called "Whiff Watch".
  4. FWIW, Rabjohns mentioned last Sunday he thought it would be 3-5 days after the portal opened before we would see our first signing. Today is day 5, but his point was that it would be several days before we got anything.
  5. His name sounded familiar and it took a while to register, lol. Shows how forgettable our roster has been since TJD.
  6. Yep. When there are no rules enforced, there are no cheaters.
  7. Yea, wow. It must be like recruiting where quantity can override quality (?).
  8. When it comes to bad hands, I refer to the player who inspired one of the best IU message board user names of all time - "Hands of Blab". LOL
  9. We're on the eve of chaos and I'm relying on all of you to tell me if we do well or poorly with portal shopping. I am serious.
  10. But have they found a replacement Elf for Hermie? lol
  11. The strategy for resurrecting the program is what I'd really like to know. As has been bandied around in this thread, why would the cream of the crop (portal & HS) players want to come here? Even with Woodson there was a track record of reviving big guys, there's nothing like that with the current staff. With a lackluster first season this past year we have nothing but some $ and PT. From where I sit, our best route is to do it with talent identification, finding under the radar young players AND then being able to develop them. Honestly, it's a tough row to hoe. I've stated before that I believe CDD will get his full 4 years but he really needs a solid strategy not a bandaid, quick fix approach.
  12. Maybe we have that coach now (despite the last 12 months fuster cluckery) - only time will tell. I was not particularly pleased with the DD hire and need to see much improvement to be. But it's possible he'll build a talented roster and begin winning. Who knows? But I'm resigned to the fact that he'll get his obligatory 4 years.
  13. It really is. The odds of success favor the hiring of a high profile winner. That was impossible for FB and (apparently) BB as well. A lot of hires flameout immediately, some after a couple of seasons, and a only a few end up being long term answers.
  14. Kind of funny. A year ago we were pointing to how UK & UL made such good hires without grabbing a "home run" name, yet a year later UK fans are ready to dump Pope and UL seems stuck in neutral. Somehow I suspect if CDD is going to get us where we want to be, it will take more than a couple more years (I believe Carr has said things to that effect).
  15. True. I'm pointing more toward fan and media reaction. Clearly, success or lack thereof has never had an immediate affect on how IU acts internally.
  16. The immediate success of McCollum & May would seem to ramp up the pressure on DeVries. Maybe a good thing - we'll see how he responds.
  17. Great time for a peeyoo T.O.
  18. Volkodsjs is AWFUL at the line.
  19. Breathing in close proximity to a PU player is now a foul...
  20. This year, I believe. But not so fast - the family dog "Massie" starts obedience classes in May.
  21. IMO it's unethical to accept a coaching job and then bolt after one year. Another reason I believe May had no interest here last year.
