IMO, lack of talent (read:shooting) is our biggest weakness. BUT It's the coach's job to assemble a talented roster. The honeymoon for Archie is now over - either he and the staff coaches the hell out of the team over the summer or makes some radical changes to the roster and/or staff. If not, next year could be the beginning of the end for him. I'm surprised I'm saying this, but this team was bad, didn't really show any improvement and recruiting seems to be completely off track.

Seems like something weird is going on there. I think I saw that KU doesn't have any top-100 commits yet for next year.

Maybe it's been mentioned and I missed it, but with Miles likely to be ousted at Nebraska, wouldn't that put Michael Lewis out of a job? Any chance he'd be a possibility here - former IU player with winners mentality and nice resume as an assistant? (Obviously as an addition or replacement on our staff-not to replace Archie)

I noticed that CBS alluded, vaguely and quickly, to "controversy around LSU" but have they breached why? My guess is the NCAA won't allow that, and how will cheating be ended if there's a gag order on mentioning it. Rather, CBS is and will praise LSU (probably even portray them as victims) as they continue to advance.

Wow. How things can change in a flash. Live by the 1-and-done, die by the 1-and-done.

I remember back when we rarely missed the NCAA and usually had expectations of making a run, how I thought it was meaningless to just make the field of 64. I still feel that way to some extent. You're in it to win it and if you're not a top 4 seed, it's pretty much guaranteed you aren't winning squat. The NIT is more like a preseason tournament, more of an opportunity to play extra games and get experience. I don't know how serious or even legitimate Langford's back issue actually is, but I'd imagine Archie knows. If RL has already decided to forego his future eligibility then I'm fine with him not playing. Again, Archie probably has a good idea of how Langford is leaning. A lot of decisions are going to have to be made in the coming days & weeks about the team going forward, by the coaches and players alike. Some things need to change and the coach has to be the one controlling things - it's got to be about the team and not individual players agendas.

It's right up there with the Pinkley Taurus from Pinkley Ford. Going back a few more decades, I always think about Jane Curtain on SNL pronouncing 'Norfolk' without the 'l' and with a 'u' while winking at the camera.

I have to say that there's a pretty stark contrast between our Athletic Department and say Nebraska's. Traditionally, not a basketball powerhouse, they've had a decent stretch recently but decided it wasn't good enough and are (apparently) going to bring in a new coach. Now look at our traditionally non-powerhouse football team (that's an understatement) and we bring in assistant coaches to become our head coach - most recently without even conducting any kind of real coaching search. Taking all that into account, perhaps we should feel pretty lucky to have Archie coaching the BB team.
