  1. Definitely not an ideal situation to be in… It turns every game into a grind. We had 149 total yards today. Sure, every team won’t be as hard as Ohio State. But we saw an anemic offense for the past two years and nothing we saw today suggests it’ll be any different this year.
  2. This is looking like another year of horrible quarterback play… we don’t have the talent elsewhere to make up for it.
  3. We all know which one Tom will go with…
  4. I’m a Deion skeptic so I’ve been very interested to see them play. So far, so good.
  5. The best secret weapon Tom Allen could unveil at this point would be a new head coach.
  6. Was it something like “give it up for your men’s basketball team!” with nothing equivalent for the women’s team? The ticket lady was big mad last night/today so was curious what it was about.
  7. So what did dweeb 1 and dweeb 2 do this time? Seeing lots of tweets about them related to last night, none of them good.
  8. I wasn’t clear in my original post, but the ‘fake elitists’ shot was more so geared toward the school itself/people/fans, not the football program. The ND people I’ve come across have been very snobby, ‘better than you’ vibes. Not a fan of them. I don’t disagree that ND would be good for the Big 10. I just don’t want them. I do think, though, that ND would be on the second tier of schools in the conference, below OSU and Michigan, and maybe Penn State.
  9. No interest in those fake elitists joining the Big 10. Let them stay independent. It’s better for them anyway. They get embarrassed whenever they face real competition.
  10. Any semblance of tradition was ruined when they added USC/UCLA (arguably when they added Rutgers), so might as well acquire all the top programs you can now. Better to be in the Big 10’s or SEC’s position position than the other conferences now scrambling for scraps.
  11. Gradman has been vindicated.
  12. There are still specialists, but they’re less common because players are more versatile. JHS won’t have to become a 3 point marksman to find a place in the league. If he was Yogi Ferrell size it’d be another story, but he has an NBA body at 6’6 with a 6’10 wingspan, though I’m not sure how well his athleticism stacks up right now. If he can play there will be a spot in the league for him. You mentioned Rondo in your statement about the NBA going away from finding spots for good players, but Rondo won a title as a key bench player with the Lakers less than 3 years ago.
  13. The nba is more skilled now that ever before and it will only grow more skilled over time. If you’re an inefficient guard you better be elite at something else if you want to stay in the league. Maybe JHS will stick around, maybe he won’t. Time will tell. The 49.2% TS he had in college won’t cut it in the league. As a LeBron guy I didn’t like the pick because I expect it’ll be a few years before JHS is ready to contribute on a team looking to contend.
  14. It’s stupid to schedule top games like Kansas during breaks when all the students are gone. Atmosphere won’t be nearly the same.
  15. Yes, young players never shine when playing with LeBron. Just look at a guy like Austin Reaves. Guy was looking at a $50+ million contract but once he played with LeBron he was on his way out of the league… oh wait. If JHS doesn’t “shine in LA” it will be because he’s not good enough yet.
  16. Most have major academic issues if he wasn’t going to be admitted to IU.
  17. IU doesn’t play WKU next year.
  18. Somewhere between 2-10 and 5-7. I see 3 or 4 wins being the most likely outcome.
  19. Doc Rivers is really not one of the best in the NBA… at all. Hes responsible for 23% of blown 3-1 leads in the NBA’s entire history. He’s been living off that 2008 title for the past 15 years.
  20. The portal is closed. Dingle committed somewhere else. If we fail to land MM too, where do we turn to save our weak perimeter game?
  21. The fate of next season really hinges on his decision this afternoon.
  22. Idk, I mean, 7 of the 13 scholarship guys from last season are gone. It’s a mix of graduation/draft/transfer portal, but our team will be drastically different next season.
  23. Yeah. It’s not the actual aspect of players getting paid that I care about. It’s the chaos caused by the combo of the transfer portal and unregulated NIL money. A cap on the amount a player can make should be instituted. They have a cap in the NBA. Of course, there isn’t a cap on endorsement money and an argument could be made that that’s what NIL is, but let’s be real on that. This is just teams funneling money to players via sponsors and donors. It’s a de facto contract from a school to a recruit, so institute a cap like in the NBA. Of course, that wouldn’t work in the NCAA because schools would just go back to doing it under the table, but I digress.
  24. NIL kinda sucks. College basketball will never be the same. It’s whatever because it’s a net gain for IU, but I still don’t like it. There are so many players in college football that NIL doesn’t have the same perception to me, even though I know the top guys there are getting millions too.
  25. He was billed as the next LeBron, so he would’ve needed an Emoni Bates level collapse to fall out of the top 10. I question how much college coaches really “do” with these 5 star, McDonald’s all American types to get them to the league.
