  1. Wouldn’t be my first pick (or even fifth), but he’s only 48 and is a college coach so that’s a good start. But a mid mid major guy is not the road I hope IU goes down with the next hire.
  2. The BOT isn’t going to read the letters anyway and, even if they happen to actual read them, they aren’t going to make any changes because of them. They don’t care about winning. They wouldn’t have crammed Woodson down Dolson’s throat if they did. Feeling better is the only reason to write one. Might as well let it all out.
  3. Woodson wanted the title, not the job. He's not willing to do the work the job requires. And this is the result. Enough is enough.
  4. I’m approaching “anyone but Woodson” territory. We can’t go through another year of this.
  5. The fact a 69 year old color commentator who went 13-69 in his one season as a coach is the final decision maker for iubb is such a depressing thought.
  6. He’ll get a second chance. I mean, technically, he already did. He’s a P5 coach (and doing very well). He’ll get a top job again in a few years and likely excel there too. It just won’t be at IU.
  7. Idk if Chris’s intel is true or not. I don’t doubt that he was told the information that he shared on here. I’ve seen many insiders on the various IU sites. Many of them, imo, are full of crap and just make things up. Chris is one of the very few legitimate ones I’ve seen. But even legitimate insiders can get bad information. Idk what happened in that situation. In any event, it just has never made sense to me as a scenario. You’re serious enough about winning that you offer Brad Stevens $7+ million a year. That doesn’t work out, so do you take your $7 million and go after another top guy? No, apparently you tuck your tail between your legs and offer it to someone no one wanted. Just an utterly bizarre situation. And hell, maybe that’s exactly what happened. I wouldn’t know. Would certainly be par for this administration’s course.
  8. I mean, your “fact” has been confirmed by nothing more than internet rumors. Even if it is true, Mike Woodson as their #2 option wasn’t a winning mentality and frankly doesn’t even make sense. How do you pivot from offering Brad Stevens $7 million to hiring Mike Woodson? And even if they want to win, they only want to win by their rules, rules which are nearly impossible to win under in college basketball and which require a top-tier coach. Yet top-tier coaches won’t come here because they can go to other schools where they won’t be forced to win with one hand tied behind their back.
  9. At a certain point we as fans have to accept that the IU administration doesn’t care enough to be an elite basketball program. They are perfectly happy turning a profit and running a squeaky clean program that they can virtue signal about. How much more proof beyond the fact they hired Mike freaking Woodson do you need?
  10. No, but you can recruit it. Part of a coach’s job is to identify such players and bring them in.
  11. Dakich can a jerk on Twitter but IU fans know his IUBB tweets are true. That’s the biggest reason why he’s unpopular amongst many fans.
  12. Our coach isn’t good enough to win without 5 star talent.
  13. Woodson looked at this roster and thought it was good enough to leave open a scholarship. Can’t turn around and blame the roster. We stink because of woodson. He’s deficient in all aspects. Recruiting. Game planning. In-game coaching. Dude needs to retire. The game has passed him by. His 2003 brand of basketball just got us run off the floor at home against a crappy Penn State team missing its best player.
  14. In a way I feel bad for him. We can shut off the tv when the games get ugly but he’s stuck there watching. Agree that he’s not very good and probably should look elsewhere after the season, though.
  15. I don’t really want Dusty May at all but he’s realistically the best IU can do, imo, given what we know about the IU administration. Just hope he can translate to the Big 10.
  16. I’ve really been turned off by Woody’s personality. Both because he throws his players under the bus and because he acts like he’s above answering reporter’s legitimate questions. Like dude, your team stinks. Sometimes you have to answer the tough questions when that happens.
  17. Unfortunately top program’s “down years” are often similar to the past two years that we had. For Woody, those were his top years.
  18. Witten apparently told Dolson no about Pat Fitzgerald after he had a great interview. So, that helps show what bucket of coaches we’ll be choosing from…. Sorry, Beard guys.
  19. I would rather a btownbanners poster make the hire than literally anyone in the IU administration. Whiten may like sports but she still has the goodey two shoes mentality that permeates the administration.
  20. When you're about to get paid millions to go away and will have way more time to nap/fish
  21. Woodson's first two seasons weren't good enough to shield him from being fired after this season. Not if the season ends the way we all expect it to end. Last year especially was a disappointment considering the expectations going into the year.
  22. I'm not going to throw my players under the bus, but I'm going to throw them under the bus in my next sentence. https://twitter.com/insidethehall/status/1753860119090110855?s=20
  23. Mediocre in the NBA a decade ago and then no one hired him for a HC job for almost a decade. One thing that I don't see brought up very often is the fact that he wasn't a coach anywhere in the 2018/2019 and 2019/2020 seasons. Dude was out of coaching entirely for two years! That's the guy IU decided to hire! It was such a joke of a decision and we're seeing it play out right in front of us.
  24. They're gonna have to spend their NIL money on a PR campaign to whip up support for retaining Woodson.
