  1. You act like we’re blind and deaf. The results speak for themselves. Coaching and playing are two completely different skill sets. Great players often make horrible coaches. And you’re right. Mike Woodson coached at the highest level. He stunk at it. Won 46% of his games in the nba. He was fired in 2014 and didn’t sniff another head coaching job until IU came around. He was out of coaching entirely in 2018/2019 and 2019/2020. You’re flailing in an argument when you resort to the “you think you know more than our coach?!” take.
  2. We’re not a “very young” team. That’s just an excuse being peddled by Mike Woodson. Xavier is a 6th year senior. Trey is a senior. Reneau and Ware are sophomores and, easily, our best players. They were top 40 in their classes. One freshman in our starting lineup, and he was the #10 player in his class. He brought in a junior Payton Sparks and a 5th year senior Anthony Walker to be rotational players. They’re not any good, but that goes to Woodson’s failures in the transfer portal.
  3. You gotta be on the Mike Woodson payroll at this point to still be taking this stance after a second 20 point drubbing by Purdue … I don’t care to wait around to see if our 66 year old coach suddenly changes his approach. I’ll be his age and he’ll still be talking about getting over the hump
  4. Ok well Woodson’s team sucks because he won’t do those things then, so he needs to go.
  5. I wanted Woodson fired on day 0. It was a joke of a hire by a joke of an administration. If IU brings him back for a fourth season? That’s as clear of a sign that they give zero craps about winning that you’ll ever get. Act accordingly.
  6. It sadly shows how far the program has fallen. Woodson’s high points are getting blown out in the first round and then getting blown out in the second round the following year. We’re so far removed from being an elite program that just making the tournament in back to back years is seen as an accomplishment. Losing in the first round or second round should be a down year for IU. Not results that keep your job safe.
  7. His supporters don’t even even to make basketball-related arguments for keeping him beyond this season anymore. It’s just ‘it’s too soon’ and ‘we’ll look impatient if we fire him.’
  8. Kentucky would’ve fired Archie when he lost 12 games during a 13 game span in conference play. But we’re IU, we’re better than that, so we kept him another two years. And since we kept him four years we have to keep Woodson at least four years too. Probably should do 5 years just to be safe.
  9. How in the world did he see this team and think we didn’t need to use the last scholarship? Xavier is erratic and often injured. Trey would be a solid role player on a good team but isn’t a guy who should be playing 33 mpg. And that’s the backcourt Woody decided to roll with.
  10. IU hired a guy who had no business getting the job but the administration (and a portion of the fanbase) will gaslight us into thinking we’re the problem. Mike Woodson 100% needs to go. Embarrassments like tonight do so much more damage to the program than firing a crappy coach “too soon” ever could do.
  11. Lmao they’re clowning us so bad that Zach Edey is launching threes. Should make them take public transit back to Bloomington.
  12. Sorry, but we can’t fire him. The public perception of firing him when we gave Archie four seasons would be so much worse than the public perception from two 20+ point beat downs courtesy of our biggest rival.
  13. We beat them by 5 points and by 8 points last year. They’re currently beating us by 26 points… after beating us by 21 points last month.
  14. You could probably find better guards on court 1 at the HPER.
  15. Would be fine with me, honestly. I’ve been much more into CFB than CBB in recent years. Would be awesome to have IU be a legitimate program.
  16. He’s said before that he doesn’t mind being at a football school, but I do wonder if long-term he’d rather be someone that basketball is #1. Playing second fiddle to the football team could get old. But maybe not. Bama is willing to spend.
  17. Would love to get Nate Oats. Had forgotten about him. Great coach.
  18. I don’t buy IU gear, I don’t buy tickets, and I don’t watch games. IU fans can vote with their wallets. As long as the athletic program makes money off IU basketball they’re happy. They’re not incentivized to make changes. If fans stopped spending their money? That would wake the administration up.
  19. Sure you are. You post all the time about how you don’t want IU to do the things other successful programs do to win, and you say anyone who disagrees isn’t a ‘true fan.’. Hasn’t exactly worked out the past 25 years for IU doing things that way, has it? I remember the graphic about IU being one of the most ‘profitable’ athletic programs. How about they actually use that profit. Offer $6 million a year, explain to coaches that you’re dropping the red tape and are ready to play ball. Guarantee that lands IU a dude. But, they’ll never do that. So we get lectures about our unreasonable expectations.
  20. A portion of the fanbase is perfectly happy filling the lovable loser role in college basketball and can’t fathom fans having higher expectations than that. Including the administration. Winning is hard. It’s much easier to sit back, collect a profit, and blame the fanbase for having expectations.
  21. Yes Scott, it’s much better for IU’s perception for the media to write articles trashing IU for sucking on the court. If a coach doesn’t want to come to IU because he wants the chance to suck for several years before he’s judged, that’s not a guy I’d ever want. There is quite literally zero reason why it would take a coach more than 3 years to have things trending in the right direction at IU with NIL and the transfer portal. This isn’t football where you have 75+ guys on the roster. You can transform a roster overnight if you want to.
  22. Caleb Love is exactly what this team needs and is missing. There likely wouldn’t be any fire Woodson chatter in that case because the season would look drastically different. But Woodson’s stubbornness got in the way. Sure it would’ve been a gamble. But you won’t hit many home runs if you refuse to swing for the fences.
  23. Are we supposed to give a crap what the national media says? Oh no, talking heads think we life on from our crappy coaches too soon. Can’t have that.
  24. No stud guard was scared of our very mediocre returning guards lol. Be for real here. If Woody couldn’t bring any in then that’s a salesman problem. Caleb Love is averaging 19 a game on the #8 team in the country. Wouldn’t have wanted Woody to promise him a starting job, though. Heavens no. The guys we have are much better.
