  1. I'm glad Green is getting some early run. Maybe Crean is starting to realize Newkirk isn't the answer?
  2. Smart layup by jbj right there. Could've tried to get one for the highlight reel but he took the easy 2 instead.
  3. Not to mention his Swiss cheese defense when they penetrate. It's just sad to watch honestly.
  4. Bryant's going to get bodied all game by that big white kid I can already tell.
  5. Bryant should've went pro last year. He probably wouldn't have made a roster and he was nowhere near ready as this season shows. but he might've gotten a guaranteed contract. That's never going to happen now unless he makes drastic improvements in multiple facets of his game. He couldn't play any position in the league right now.
  6. I think I understood Crean's substitutions more before I read the article than after I did lol. I disagree completely with him, though, when he said "I know what happens when they hit that wall. We have to make sure they don’t hit that wall. Get them that rest so we can put them back in and they’ll be good. We have a 40-minute game minimum. We’re not living in the moment as much as it's play by play. We still have to plan ahead for the end of the game.” You work on that during off season conditioning. During preseason conditioning. These guys are 18-22 years old. This isn't the NBA where they are playing back-to-backs. They get 2-3 days between games at a minimum. There are NBA players their age putting up 35 minutes a night, 82 nights a year. There's no reason our starters shouldn't be able to give 32-35 minutes a game, and honestly I think they feel the same way. Players want to be out there playing as much as possible, and there's a good chance his methods hurt us with the top recruits. They're not coming to college to play 20-25 minutes a night. Having fresh players doesn't help us when they're spending half the game on the bench.
  7. Paige going deep probably didn't happen nearly as often as I think it did, the times he did probably just caught my attention and stuck with me. There's a lot of blocking clips in his highlight video so a switch to TE would make sense. Seems to have the frame for it.
  8. Can't teach 6'6. It'd be nice having a player with his size to go to on deep balls after a season of sending Mitchell Paige on the deep routes.
  9. Crazy to see the difference in his tweets in just five days.
  10. I guess my biggest concern is what exactly Glass considers "doing well." I'm not convinced "consistent national title contender" is where he sets the bar, and I think that's where a lot of us here want him to set it.
  11. I could see that happening as he's so big on player development/getting guys to the next level. He might assume that if all of the players are getting better individually that it'll translate to an improved team without him really having to focus on it. I personally wish he'd focus less on player development and more on developing a team.
  12. Theyre probably as confused as we all are about how they lost to IU and then our season has gone the way it has. Coaching is the easy answer but it makes me wonder if something is going on internally. Crean's teams are known for peaking early but they've been on a downward spiral since late November... Our guys seem to be getting worse as the season goes along.
  13. Hey at least we threw a normal inbound pass and not a home run toss like usual. We got a shot off this time. Baby steps.
  14. That would be the worst scenario possible. Glass would be impressed that Crean turned the season around and give him a 5-6 year extension. The stuff of nightmares lol.
  15. Our only two wins against teams worth a crap are UNC and Kansas. Of course those are outstanding wins, but they're not enough to get us into the tournament. I could see this team falling off the cliff and going sub-.500 in the Big 10. We lack leadership on the court and the players have no one on the sideline they can look to for it. I think every loss puts more doubt into their heads. TB and OG are MIA, and our schedule only gets harder from here on out. A couple weeks ago I said I thought we might miss the tournament. At that point I hoped I was just being a prisoner of the moment and overreacting, but now I think there's a legitimate chance of it happening. This might get ugly...
  16. De'ron needs to get more than two shots. I wouldn't be against him and TB switching minutes.
  17. Don't forget about him getting manhandled by Fort Wayne
  18. Two more losses to tie last season lmao
  19. Every loss is a step closer to a Crean exit. If that's the way it has to be then I can live with it.
  20. He's gotta use his big frame or else a lot of his shots are going to get blocked since he isn't very athletic. He's still further along than I expected him to be this year tho, and a better post option than Bryant imo.
  21. De'ron dribbles too much when he gets it. He needs to be able to get to a point where he can take 1-2 dribbles and make a move.
  22. Rutgers was 11-4 too before they got beat down by MSU
  23. It makes me wonder if he's in Crean's doghouse or something. It always seems like he never plays enough.
  24. This is a terrible decision at face value. He was a good back for us but I never thought of him as an NFL prospect during his time here. He probably saw the writing on the wall and realized the carries weren't going to be there for him next year. Might as well take a chance and see what happens while his stock is as high as it'll get. I can't fault him for that. Best of luck to him!
  25. I'll lose all faith in IU basketball if Crean gets another extension.
