  1. Let's make it a package deal and sneak his pg another year of eligibility, surely the NCAA wouldn't notice.
  2. The only concern I would have about his age is whether players would try being buddy-buddy with him because he's so young. If that's not a problem for him then let's go for it. If you know basketball you know basketball, regardless of how old you are. Plus, if he's successful there are very few college jobs that would be a step up that we'd have to worry about losing him to.
  3. No doubt about that. I wouldn't bet 50 cents on it happening. It's a shame too because Green can make passes no one else on the roster can even think about making, and Cujo already seems to have nice scoring ability. Newkirk doesn't really have either of those things.
  4. I'm right there with you. I would like to see more two guard lineups but now that we're down two forwards I'm not sure we have the personnel for that. Hopefully DG and Cujo start to get the minutes that they need. If they can get ~20 a game I think they'll perform well enough that Crean's hand will be forced and one of the two will head to the starting lineup in place of Newkirk.
  5. They hadn't noticed it in the 18 games prior to last night so I'm not confident that they will now. Or maybe they have noticed it and just don't want to make a change for whatever reason. Either way I would bet on Newkirk getting starter minutes the rest of the season.
  6. Like hsrtxp said the big problem would be if he's not healthy by the draft and teams don't have the opportunity to see him workout after the injury. With modern medicine though an ACL isn't usually the career-altering injury it was 25-30 years ago.
  7. Not sure. If you look at a guy like D Rose it certainly seems like it does, but then other guys come back and are as good as new. I think a lot of it is mental. Some guys when they come back still don't trust their repaired knee so they baby it and overcompensate with their healthy one, which could lead to further injury.
  8. The 76ers drafted Embiid #3 with all of his foot problems. I would argue that for a 7 footer that's a more significant injury than a torn ACL. Someone would take a chance on him in the 1st round.
  9. I feel like it's the other way around, the injury makes it seem more likely that he goes pro. No reason to stick around college and play for free and risk another significant injury.
  10. He's wanted for sniping in the other 49 states. Can't risk leaving Indiana.
  11. What have you seen from Crean that makes you think we're wrong and you're right? Do you think he's capable of making IU a top 5 program, and if so, why? Look man, I like to argue. I like to consider other viewpoints and I like when people challenge my thoughts and really make me think about them. But you just came in drive-by style with the insults without giving anything to support your side. The mods (at least I think it was them) created this thread so every other one wouldn't turn into a "fire Tom Crean" thread. So yes, we're like-minded people insulating ourselves because that was the point of the thread. If you think we're wrong then tell us why you think so.
  12. Should we jump off the bridge first or get off the wagon? You came to the "Fire Tom Crean" thread, of course it's going to be a bunch of people talking about how much they want to fire Tom Crean.
  13. I'm only 22 lol, and I didn't really care about basketball until I was like 8, so I haven't had it as rough as some people. Then again I never got to see us at our peak so that sucks too.
  14. It would've been better for the long term goal if he had missed and we went on to lose. I get very little satisfaction from wins like these because they extend the limbo we're in right now. I want IU to win championships and become an elite program again, and that's not going to happen if our team continues to do just enough to keep Crean around.
  15. Lol that's what I thought too. Maybe that's just his style.
  16. Green doesn't look for his shot very often. I'm guessing he doesn't have the green light from Crean.
  17. Newkirk and Mcroberts out there at the same times makes it 3 on 5 offensively.
  18. Even weirder. It's not like you want the other team huddling around your player when he's injured on the ground. Get the medical staff in there and get everyone else out of the way. Seems like Penn State did what they should've done.
  19. Do they not usually run by where he was? I'm not sure why he would be upset about that.
  20. They kept trying to play replays to show what happened and I swear they were picking the worst angles possible.
  21. It's honestly ridiculous. You can make as many stupid decisions as you want during the first 39:50 of the game and it won't affect your playing time at all. Make one in the last 10 seconds and it'll get you glued to the bench.
  22. McRoberts is in lol, and no Green. Gotta love Crean ball.
  23. We're going to lose by 10+ if we keep giving up 2nd and 3rd chances.
