Some of our guys are in Fort Lauderdale right now. Probably happy the season is over with and in time to enjoy some of spring break. I don't blame them, honestly.

I don't feel so bad about rooting for the tank now. I had a feeling that things would have to get real ugly for something to happen.

I don't want to ever hear Glass complaining about money after he gave up free money last night.

Would Cuban keep a coach that has produced an NBA equivalent of Crean's results? I doubt it.

If Illinois ends up with a top coach and we're stuck with more Crean.... Yuck.

Cal's open!! Think of the tan Crean could get coaching there.

They might have offered something different to Crean though.

If this meeting stuff is true then I bet the boosters expected Glass to make the change on his own but once they got wind that he wasn't going to they decided to take matters into their own hands.

He really only needs to hire one good coach. If the basketball program is doing well then few will care about what's happening with the other programs and his job will be safe.

I have a hard time believing that Crean is the hill that Fred Glass is willing to die on. His decision is so cut and dry: fire Crean and stay in everyone's good graces or keep him and watch the angry mob move on to him. I don't have faith in Glass making the right hire, but I can't see him risking his entire career on Tom Crean. Surely he's smarter than that..

There might not be any deemphasizing athletics but we sure aren't getting our money's worth. We pay our coach a top-ten salary and give him the highest recruiting budget in the conference and this is what we get out of it. We spend all this money and we've been the 5th or 6th best program in our own conference. Maybe deemphasizing isn't the right word, but we've been doing something wrong.

It doesn't make any sense to me. He can't use the "we're an academic school so that's what we're focused on, athletics come second" reason because plenty of fine academic schools also have great athletics. Athletics are the best marketing tool a school has. Duke is a great institution but the average guy walking down the street knows about it because of its basketball program. Without it, they're just another school.

Any idea how much it cost us to travel for last night? Between travel expenses and missed revenue I'd guess that we easily lost $300-400k. It's not a lot in the grand scheme of things but it would probably pay for half the yearly budget of one of the less expensive sports. Maybe I'm off on my numbers but a dollar spent on travel is more than what should've been spent.

He talks about how important money is, but then he turns around and pays for the team to travel to Atlanta instead of making money off them playing at home... Things are getting really bizarre in Hoosier Land.

McRobbie might not care about basketball but the man cares about the money. I can't imagine he was pleased by the decision to pass on the home game and give up free cash.

I'm pretty excited about football, I think we're making improvements as a program. I hope we can take the next step and get some 7-5, 8-4 seasons. The bowls are nice but we can't become complacent with 6-6 seasons and bowl losses.

Glass is going to walk up to a press conference tomorrow afternoon, fire Crean, pull out Billy D from underneath his podium and then crowd surf his way out of the room. That, or he's going to give Crean a vote of confidence and become the most hated guy in Bloomington since Kent Harvey.

Oh I was just saying "1 average team" to play off of Fred's stupid "24 sports/1 team" slogan and describe IU athletics as a whole as 1 average 'team'. I agree with you though. When people talk about the good he has done it seems like the vast majority of it is related to revenue, building new facilities, getting donations, stuff like that. Rarely do I hear people mention the successes programs are having on the field/court. I really don't want to hear talk about all the money he's bringing in now since he gave up an opportunity to make free money because he was afraid of his coach getting booed.

Man, you said you don't want to read 900 pages to find your answer. We've answered your question extensively over those 900 pages. If you don't want to look through them don't get mad at us.

If Glass can sit courtside at tonight's disaster and still feel confident that Crean's the man moving forward then he needs to go as well. Maybe you want 24 sports, one average team, Fred, but the people don't.

Tom Crean is an embarrassment and not the guy I want representing my school's most important program. I strongly dislike him as a coach, but the more he says the more I dislike him as a person too.

If I'm still around Bloomington next year I think I'm going to buy football tickets and not give buying basketball tickets a second thought. Never thought that I would say that, but these things happen.

Twitter is brutal right now. The fan base is going to erupt if Glass brings him back next year. Reading the quotes from Crean right now reminds me why I don't like him. Just an incredibly arrogant man who looks to excuses for everything.

Are you really surprised though? Crean's gonna Crean until the bitter end.

If Crean doesn't get fired now he never will. Glass has everything that he needs to pull the plug. If he doesn't things are going to get very, very toxic. Please Tom, know when to walk away. You want the fans to remember you as the good guy and not the villain.
