  1. Idk about any possible shady things concerning Schilling, but I think a lot of the hate from people in the state towards him came from him kicking people's butts at Park Tudor and the "recruiting" he did there. The whole public vs. private debate people have with Indiana high school basketball.
  2. I had faith in Archie putting together a good staff but when he was talking about building the "best staff in college basketball" it kinda felt like something he was just saying because it would pump people up and get them excited. I wasn't sure if he would be able to put together a top notch one so quickly. It looks like I was wrong and I couldn't be happier.
  3. Lol this would be funny if true. Fred Glass - "Sorry Steve but you aren't being considered for the job. We're gonna steal your top recruiter though :)"
  4. I don't want McKinley unless something major happens with our roster. It looks like we'll have plenty of guards next year and Archie is already going after two of the best in the class of 2018. There's no need to add another one for next year.
  5. I already thought it was going to happen, but I think this confirms Green will be back. Good things are ahead!
  6. I wonder what his son's white former all-american/national champion coach thinks about this.
  7. Realistically you can't win no championship with the Ball traveling circus attached to your team.
  8. I don't doubt that schools find ways around the rules, but if that's what he's talking about it seems dumb to broadcast publicly imo.
  9. Around $3,000 per year. This article says between $2,000 and $5,000. It varies from school to school depending on the cost of living there. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cnn.com/money/2015/09/04/news/companies/extra-cash-college-athletes/index.html From what I understand the amount they get for rent is equal to what room/board is on-campus. At IU it's around $10,000 for the year. I'm sure they save some of that money by living together but I'm not seeing a way that they're pocketing the kind of money Dakich is talking about.
  10. I'd really like to know where Dan is getting his dollar amounts because the amount of "legal" money schools can pay their players doesn't come close to what he's saying. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  11. Dakich is so full of crap I shouldn't be surprised at this point. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  12. I would get kind of annoyed having a completely new roster to root for every year. It's harder to feel connected to a school when the players always leave after a semester and a half. Part of what I like about the college game is seeing players grow up and improve throughout their careers. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  13. Cal must not be used to talking to parents that don't just care about the NBA lol. He's getting rusty. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  14. Lol now that would be able to top his senior night proposal. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  15. Time for us to decipher more emojis. Jbj confirmed to be coming back for a national championship ring? [emoji57] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  16. Did Calipari really say that about school? He's an excellent salesman so you'd think he wouldn't say something so dumb to a family that cares about education.
  17. Very interesting. Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  18. Idk man, it's gotta be tough scraping by on $10 million a year. He might not be able to afford that haha. https://www.google.com/amp/www.sbnation.com/platform/amp/nba/2015/7/1/8817317/danny-green-contract-spurs-signs-nba-free-agency Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  19. Nope. I'm not sure about what they can do with academic scholarships regarding incoming freshmen, but if a player was already on an athletic scholarship the school can't take him off that and put him on an academic one to have him be a "walk-on". The kid could decide to give up his scholarship to become a walk-on and pay his own way, but the school can't give him an academic scholarship. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  20. 1. OG 2. De'ron Davis 3. Thomas Bryant 4. Devonte Green 5. Juwan Morgan 6. Blackmon 7. RoJo 8. Collin Hartman 9. Curtis Jones 10. Josh Newkirk 11. Freddie McSwain 12. Grant Gelon 13. Tim Priller 1. Justin Smith 2. Al Durham 3. Clifton Moore Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  21. You can't give basketball players academic scholarships and keep them on the team. I'm not sure about how giving kids scholarships for other sports would work though. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  22. If we somehow manage to keep OG do we still have room for Smith? Having that length and athleticism would be niceeee. Looking at the roster it looks like we're full if everyone comes back.. I would honestly rather keep OG, lose Blackmon, and bring in Smith if everyone else on the current roster decides to come back. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  23. He's only 5'11? I wonder where he could go to school and be coached by a former undersized point guard [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app
  24. It seems kind of odd to me. Our season has been over for 3+ weeks, and they've known about Archie being the new coach for almost 2 weeks. I get that they want to take their time and make the right call, but there's no downside to declaring without an agent. You would think that if they were thinking about testing the waters they would've already done so. If they're both going to do it idk what they're waiting for.
