(2018) PG Robert Phinisee to Cincinnati
Hoosierfan2017 replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I wonder if "It means a lot. The head coach was here,” he said. “He followed through, not just an assistant coach." was a subtle jab at Purdue -
Speed, quickness, agility, strength. You need that for both sports. Sure it's not exactly the same, but still. We're not asking Marshall to coach them basketball, he's here to make them bigger, faster and stronger. The guy is obviously good enough and smart enough to train top NFL players, so I'm not worried about him being able to tailor his training approach to suit basketball players. He has some prior experience with Xavier and Dayton too so that's nice. I'm excited to see what he can do with De'ron this summer.

Rondo's out indefinitely with a fractured thumb. Big loss for Chicago.

Alright I get it, LeBron's a bum and if he wins it's never because of his performance.
-
Draymond played the last two games, both L's.

People said the same thing last year, then the impossible happened.

Largest halftime comeback in postseason history. The Cavs have been screwing around the past few months but I can see this win being the one that flips their switch.
-
If kyrie played in the second half I didn't notice it. I'm going to avoid being a Purdue Person and boasting though because that first half was beyond embarrassing.

Agreed, it's awesome. I've only been to a handful of games here but every time I come I'm amazed at how nice it is.

Yeah I noticed the guy next to Archie and then Izzo but I didn't see Fife until Boogaloo pointed him out. -
I'm holding down the balcony tonight for game 3. Sometimes I wish we had built a new arena like Bankers Life instead of renovating. No bad seat in the entire place.

I wondered who MSU's third coach was. I had read that they were three deep there but only saw two coaches. -
To me it made it seem like he didn't have a good grip on the roster situation and was just winging it. I didn't like how he would force some players out to make room for new ones. Like this past year Crean was looking like he was recruiting a five man class and now we see that finding room for three is hard enough. I think it weighs on guys and negatively impacts them when they see their coach out recruiting over them, and I think it burned some bridges with high school coaches.
-
I don't really blame Russ for it, he has to shoot a bunch to give them a chance at winning, but idk. OKC has three other guys on the team averaging double figures for the year and they're all shooting higher percentages from the field than him. I think I would be pretty annoyed if I had a teammate take 18 shots during the 4th quarter while shooting as poorly as he did last night. Unless OKC can make some moves this offseason I don't expect to see him there much longer.
-
I would hate playing with Westbrook. He's a great talent, but watching him chuck 43 shots on 39% shooting would get old fast.
-
Archie doesn't know what JBJ and TB are going to do. If he didn't try to get all 3 recruits to stay he could've been in a position where he loses OG, James and Tom, and then loses the 3 recruits too. He would be filling the rest of the roster out with table scraps. Sure, he put himself in the oversign position, but he was doing the best he could in a bad situation. It's nothing like what Crean did.

Ah okay, that makes sense. Saves him a lot of time. Was he meeting with high school coaches/other important basketball people in the area?
