(2021) CG Jalen Blackmon
Hoosierfan2017 replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I really hope those rumors of the Blackmon family being impressed by Archie are true. -
LeBron passed Kareem last night for second on the all time playoff scoring list last night. Depending on how far he goes in the playoffs he could pass Jordan for #1 this season.

Yeah that's true looking at like the entire program's history. Legend for the younger generation I would say though, or at least close to it. Part of it is his name imo. You say it and everyone automatically knows who you're talking about. IU hasn't had much success since I've been around so guys like Yogi, Cody, and Victor are up there at the top for me. Of course there are many IU players that accomplished much more than them but it's just harder for me to see those other guys as legends since I never got to see them play.

Idk why but I've always had this idea that Christian didn't really like Crean. I think I might've read it somewhere, but I don't remember. If so that could explain why Crean wasn't going after him very hard. -
Coach K's slipping.

Yeah I'm just kind of annoyed by him at this point. It's been over a month since he was fired and he's still making excuses and whining about how people weren't supportive. It seems like he's never going to take responsibility for his screw ups.

Report: Thomas Bryant to hire agent
Hoosierfan2017 replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I don't think anyone is really that salty about it, we just don't think it's a good decision. -
The Purdue game, and then Crean threw him in during the second half of the Northwestern game on senior night for a few minutes too. He wasn't sensational or anything but he wasn't a complete liability either. With us possibly being thin up front next year depending on Moore's development, if Priller can give a minute or two here and there it would be helpful.

With LAC losing today that's probably the last we've seen of their current lineup. They were exciting during the regular season but it seemed like they were always getting hit with injuries in the playoffs. They could just never quite break through. I'd like to see what Chris Paul could do with San Antonio or New Orleans.

Report: Thomas Bryant to hire agent
Hoosierfan2017 replied to AZ Hoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Troy's game is much better suited for the NBA than Bryant's is. Troy always had the athleticism and physical characteristics you need for the NBA, he just needed to develop the basketball abilities. Bryant needs to develop both. -
I have no doubts that Embiid is a very talented player. I just question whether he'll be able to stay healthy long enough for it to matter. Andrew Bynum, Greg Oden and Yao Ming were all talented big men who just couldn't stay healthy. Embiid has had back and foot injuries, injuries that are especially tough on big guys. I hope I'm wrong and he's able to get healthy and have a great career, but we've seen numerous big guys have their careers ended or negatively altered by injuries.

They've been looking to trade Okafor for over a year now. Maybe they'll get something good in return, but after the way they gave away Noel I'm not too sure. Embiid and Simmons could become a great duo, but I have to see how Simmons actually plays in the NBA first before making any predictions. He showed at LSU that he can put up nice stats without making his team a winner. The four teams at the top of the Eastern Conference all have multiple talented players that we already know can produce at a high level.

What talent do they have that will put them above Boston, Cleveland, Toronto or Washington? Those teams all have established stars. We don't really know what talent Philly has because their players never stay healthy for very long. I can see them developing into a playoff team but that's only if the stars align and all their players pan out. There are a bunch of "ifs" that have to come true for them to become a decent team.
