  1. "Hayward-esque as a Bulldog".... Cmon man. I'm sure he's a nice kid and a good player, but hyping him up that much to be something he's not isn't doing him any favors.
  2. I agree. We have a good mix of upperclassmen and youth. I think Smith will be ready to contribute as a freshman. He has good size and athleticism. Davis being in shape should help him be able to stay on the court for the 25-30 minutes a game we need from him. As long as we stay healthy I see no reason why we can't have a successful season. We're gonna get to see right away what Archie's made of coaching wise.
  3. Not sure if this has already been posted. http://www.indystar.com/story/sports/college/indiana/2017/06/01/sticking-around-town-gives-some-hoosiers-head-start-archie-miller/362356001/
  4. So is this. I know they're from like a week ago but I stumbled across his Twitter account this afternoon.
  5. I understand that's the way people look at it, but it's a simpleminded approach imo. Too many variables go into winning a championship to use it as the end all, be all when debating players. I was watching the tnt NBA show the other day and Charles Barkley was talking about how if LeBron wins this championship he would consider putting him ahead of Kobe on his all-time list. Like really, Kobe Bryant? I can completely understand people putting Jordan ahead of him, but Kobe? Kobe was like the store brand version of Jordan. Kobe had the most dominating player I've ever seen in his prime as a teammate. Give LeBron prime Shaq and see how many rings the two of them win. He ignored the fact that LeBron is a better shooter, passer, defender, rebounder and teammate than Kobe ever was and goes straight to the "5>3, so Kobe>LeBron" argument. It just seems like the lazy way to argue for media talking heads that don't want to dive deeper.
  6. I mean he was only there for four years and he won two titles. He made it to the Finals all four years. By the end of his time there he was carrying the team. In 2014 they lost 4-1 and he put up 28/8/4 on 57/52/79 shooting. Bosh and Wade COMBINED had 29/9/3.6 in the Finals. They were both supposed to be superstars at that point but no one ever criticizes them for coming up short. He puts up the same numbers as the other two superstars combined and still gets all the blame. He choked his first year against the Mavs, but that's the only Finals he should've won that he didn't. As for elevating his teammates, he does that more than anyone else in NBA history, imo. He took a team starting Drew Gooden, Boobie Gibson, Sasha Pavlovic and Zydrunas Ilgauskas to the NBA finals. He went 66-16 with Delonte West and Mo Williams as his starting guards
  7. Sorry man I'm just too mad about this game to have a rational discussion right now lol.
  8. For real though, I've never understood that argument. Like I understand that Jordan went 6-0 in the Finals, and that's incredible, but to act like it's better to lose before the Finals than in them is crazy. I can't see any argument in favor of Lebron's career being better if he was 3-0 in the Finals and had in the conference finals instead of the NBA finals the other 4 years. It wouldn't make any sense.
  9. The only thing I hate about this is that if LeBron loses some media people will be like "3-5 in the Finals, LeBron sucks." This Warriors team is the most talented team in NBA history. Michael Jordan and the Bulls wouldn't beat them.
  10. This is beyond anything LeBron gets.
  11. Golden State is getting away with everything.
  12. And we're only a few weeks into the summer! Very encouraging indeed.
  13. Small school basketball isn't for everyone. Idk any specifics about Vijay, but I could see him not liking playing in front of a few hundred fans every night after watching his brother play in Assembly Hall and such. Being a walk-on at a school like IU might be a more enjoyable experience.
  14. Ah yeah true. I was assuming Archie will fill that one this year so I forgot about it.
  15. We'll have at least 5. Hartman, McSwain, Newkirk, Priller, Rojo.
  16. Steve Kerr's status is still up in the air. Golden State is a well-oiled machine, but Mike Brown is a really bad coach. If any games come down to crunch time that could end up hurting them.
  17. Idk about Cody, but I remember hearing that guys like Duncan, KG, Jermaine O'neal, and others would say that they were 6'11 to avoid being labeled 7 footers. Idk how much truth there is to it, but yeah I've heard something similar about big guys before.
  18. So bad lol. He's the kind of player that makes his teammates give no effort because they know they won't see the ball. Lonzo's the only one of the three that'll make the NBA imo. The other two will get crushed by their dad's hype. You could tell the guys on the other team wanted to go after Lamelo every possession.
  19. Someone with digital skills should make a collab with that video and the Watshot and tweet it at him.
  20. Is De'ron a legit 6'10? That's great if he is, but I always thought it seemed like a generous height for him. The 6'8ish range seemed to be more accurate.
  21. Lol I figured new coach, new attitude. In all seriousness though I fully expect a top half of the Big 10 finish. Anything worse is a Tom Crean type of result imo, and we definitely didn't hire Archie for that.
  22. I think part of that was due to him not being in basketball shape and adjusting to the speed of the game. He missed all of last summer so I think being here all summer this year can help him make that jump. He might not put up those kind of numbers but he should be able to get the fouling under control and put up double figures.
  23. Top 4 in the Big Ten and the sweet 16, y'all heard it here first. I think we're gonna play through De'ron and he'll have a 15 and 8 type of season.
