Maybe. He's on a two year deal so a team could trade for him to sell seats even if he doesn't want to be there. Plus if he makes an all-NBA team he can sign a super max contract or whatever it's called, which is likely if he's on a crappy team.

I'm kind of excited about this tbh. The Cavs as currently constructed can't beat the Warriors. They can get a good haul back for Kyrie. Hopefully it includes two way players because they're severely lacking those right now.

Kyrie can make whatever requests he wants, but without a no-trade clause it's largely irrelevant. He'll go to the highest bidder.

Romeo is starting to feel like a legitimate possibility whereas a couple months ago it was more "he'd be awesome to get but not very realistic."

Man, Archie has been incredible so far. He came in and hired a top notch staff. Kept all three of our recruits. Kept every current player except for Gelon and the three NBA guys. Got Hartman to come back. Got De'ron to stay on campus all summer. Just added a top 100 player to this class. I know recruiting has put some of us on edge lately, but I don't think there's anything that he realistically could've done better so far.

But... We've given many reasons to bring him in now. We wanted him for next year's class and now we have him a year early at no cost.

He might not dramatically improve, but there's really no downside. It doesn't use up a year of his eligibility and we weren't going to use the scholarship this year anyway. Having another big 6-8 body to go against in practice will also benefit the rest of our players.
