  1. I saw Upstairs. Not sure about others
  2. Idk, but I want the coach who doesn’t need time to think about it. By the looks of it, DD touched down in Bloomington before the ink was even dry.
  3. No clue how we’ll survive next season without the Big Snooze on the sideline.
  4. No offense to him, but committing to Woodson when he did suggests that it was purely a financial decision for him. We had enough of those guys last year.
  5. I love seeing the WVU fan crash outs. It’s good to have a new coach whose fanbase is angry about him leaving.
  6. The latest Brad Stevens creative writing exercise, lol. Assignment’s due by COB today, gotta hurry to get initial drafts out the door.
  7. No, but it was very obvious that certain “insiders” were coming on here just to troll people. Thankfully we have a coach now and we can hopefully put all the Brad Stevens stuff behind us.
  8. If you play three years at IU and still can’t get the name right then you’re probably not what we’re looking for.
  9. $7 million in NIL will go a lot farther this year too now that the coach won’t be paying role players $500k to say nice things about him/dump on the fans.
  10. I won’t pretend to know much about him. However, I believed going into the search that there were quite a few coaches who, given IU’s NIL resources, fan support, and brand, could have success. Those are the coaches who have won at their current levels and are willing to roll up their sleeves and work their butt off. Sounds like DD fits that mold. I’m excited to see where things go.
  11. So did we hire DD? I’m generally a very negative/hard to please fan, but this would get my stamp of approval. Still not a huge fan of Dolson if true that he let his foot off the gas because he thought Brad was locked in, but DD is a legit hire so props to Scott if this happens.
  12. Maybe. But a big source of the heat on Woodson were the facts that he behaved like an utter j******, simply refused to do many aspects of his job, and intentional drove an enormous wedge between the players and fans because his narcissistic personality refused to accept that he was the reason why the team failed. You’ve got guys like TJD referring to the fans as trolls and pretending like Woodson was some kind of martyr for taking the job no one wanted him to have. If DD were to behave like a normal person and recruit likable players those two things alone would take off some heat.
  13. I’m at the “anyone but Brownell” stage of the coaching search.
  14. Fitting end to the Woodson fiasco. Fire everyone involved and start fresh.
  15. That’s not really the same thing.
  16. It’s not his fault!
  17. Saw a tweet from someone saying they’ll become a reverse reverse jacket fan if IU hires Brownell - IU football and Notre Dame basketball. ND sucks at basketball too, but it made me laugh. Dolson is completely clueless if he doesn’t understand the harsh, immediate backlash a Brownell hire would bring. There’d be zero honeymoon period and the pitchforks would be out on day one.
  18. They’re completely rational feelings based on the way the IU basketball program has been run for the past 25 years. People say “no way they hire Brad Brownell,” but a Brad Brownell hire would be completely on brand.
  19. - Long career - nothing in it shows he is ready for IU - if he wasn’t from Indiana, no way he’d be in the discussion That’s exactly what happened with the last basketball coach IU hired.
  20. Lmao Scott Dolson is so bad.
  21. You could probably find a dozen “you don’t pay $10 million to fire Archie to hire Mike Woodson” posts in this very thread from March 2021. Yet that’s exactly what IU did. Just think about whatever decision a well-run program would make and then take the opposite of that if you want to figure out IU’s next move.
  22. Did your eyes skip the “IU basketball” distinction in my post? IU football doesn’t have an hundred different hands meddling with the program that you have to navigate through. Everything Dolson has done with IU basketball during his tenure has been a disaster. The same people who have spent the past two coaching searches claim that none of it was Dolson’s fault and he had no control, so you can believe that if you want, but the decisions were made on his watch. Hiring Brad Brownell would be yet another bad basketball decision courtesy of him.
  23. That our incompetent AD continued his IU basketball incompetence.
  24. It’s hard not to view it as trolling at this point to be completely honest, but it’s whatever. People entertain themselves in different ways. We’ll find out soon enough who the hire is.
  25. The family vote was 3-1 in favor of taking the job this time, but then Brad gave his daughter 3 more votes because she’s still in high school and it ended up 4-3.
