  1. This Penix isn’t going to cut it.. 1-7 to start.
  2. This intro made me laugh so much lol. Woody has to be so good for the locker room vibe (and a complete 180 from Archie).
  3. Thanks! Glad to hear that it ended up filling up nicely
  4. @mamasa how’s the crowd looking now?
  5. Woody and Zeke look ready to go.
  6. A lot can happen between now and 13 months from now when he can sign..
  7. That’s actually really interesting to me. I have no idea how many they’ll sell, but at $3 each the players could get some nice pocket change if they sell enough.
  8. Pretty cool. Have to imagine former player appearances will be more common now with Woody as the coach.
  9. Those look much better.
  10. I do wonder how much that’s affecting the team this year, and how much it affected them last year. There are probably a host of reasons explaining the different team we’ve seen this year, but at this point I’m leaning toward us benefiting a good amount from no fans last year.
  11. Man, there were 25k fans at the game last night. If that’s a hostile environment for us we’re in big trouble Saturday night when we play in front of 4x that many fans.
  12. We have eight games left and need four wins. Of those eight, I feel confident about one, up in the air about three, and not confident about four. I don’t think I see four wins on our remaining schedule. Rutgers/Maryland/Purdue are all winnable, but I think we’ll lose at least one of those. MSU is the most winnable of the four I don’t feel good about. There’s a path to six wins but we’d need to play much better than we have thus far. Either way, it’s really disappointing that we’re once again just hoping to get to six wins after all the offseason hype. I predict we finish 5-7.
  13. Even if we win this game it feels like all of the energy/momentum in the program is gone.
  14. This will sound like a hot take but I’ve never been sold on Allen’s in-game coaching. He needs good coordinators, and right now we don’t have them.
  15. Penix should be a dual threat qb but every time he runs it’s a potential disaster. He looks better today though.
  16. Ahh I love sportsurge lol, they’re my NBA go-to. I couldn’t find the game on there when I looked so thank you!
  17. Does anyone have a stream by chance? Thought Paramount+ would have it included with their CBS stuff but they do not.
  18. I live in Jersey so happy valley is only a few hours away for me. I kind of want to go to the game and think it’d be a great atmosphere, but at the same time not sure I want to spend several hundred dollars to likely watch us get destroyed…
  19. As many people know, I’ve always thought that Ramsey was criminally underrated by IU fans. He wasn’t Patrick Mahomes, but he wasn’t Zander Diamont either. You don’t throw for 8,300 yards and 54 touchdowns in the Big 10 if you are. For all the talk about how X quarterback can’t beat the top teams, he went to Northwestern, went 7-2, won the Big 10 West and won a bowl game against an SEC team. Sometimes a boring, average quarterback is all you need. Iowa’s quarterback is the epitome of average and they destroyed us and will probably win their division. If Tuttle can be as good as Ramsey I see no reason not to turn to him. Penix is awful right now. We probably don’t beat PSU or OSU with him, but let’s be honest we probably aren’t beating those teams this year anyway. We have several games against competitive teams similar to us. Cincinnati was one of them, imo. I want the quarterback who gives us the best chance in those games because those are the teams we need to beat to make a bowl game. A turnover machine like Penix hurts our chances in those games. Unfortunately, I agree with you that we’re stuck with him barring injury. I don’t see Allen making a change unless he is forced to.
  20. While the Penix of old was capable of beating top teams because of great play, it remains to be seen whether current Penix can. What we do know is that current Penix is more than capable of being the reason why we lose to a top 10 team. Can Tuttle give us average against a good team? Because average beats Cincinnati on Saturday. We haven’t seen OSU Penix in any other game before or since that game. And really, it was only half of that game. The first half was pedestrian. That game also happened in a completely empty stadium. We’re not going to (hopefully) see that setting ever again. That’s not to minimize that game, as it was an amazing game, but I’m not holding out hope that we see anything close to that from him again. The last play of the PSU game is what everyone remembers, but as a whole it was a very mediocre game from him. 19/36 for 170 yards, 1 td and 1 int. As far as leashes, I vote for no leash at all. Penix should be benched and Tuttle should start on Saturday against WKU. He needs game reps to get prepared for the gauntlet we have coming up. He’s completed 48% of his passes and thrown 6 interceptions against our two BCS opponents this year. 31 completions to our team and 6 completions to the other team. Potential has been the key word with penix. People have seen his strong arm and moments of greatness and thought about his potential for greatness. But at some point that has to actually materialize. Its his fourth season at IU. At this point, more often than not he’s been inconsistent and injury prone. I’m ready to move on, and if history is an indicator at some point we’ll have to because of injury anymore. He’s never played more than six games in a season, and he’s never lasted until the end of one.
  21. Id go as far as saying Hoosier Hysterics is the biggest ‘non-official IU’ problem we have. They’re definitely the biggest fan-related problem we have. They’re straight up creepy. I’ve never seen an interaction between them and a player/recruit where i didn’t cringe. They’re a total liability and I feel bad for the players who have to interact with them.
  22. We win today pretty easily with a game manager instead of whatever Penix was out there. Peyton Ramsey was a game manager in most people’s eyes. In 2019 he completed 68% of his passes for 8.2 Y/A. Penix’s calling card is his arm strength but that doesn’t really mean much when he’s wildly inaccurate and can’t get the ball to the right team. Through 3 games he’s completed 48% of his passes for 5.1 Y/A, and he’s thrown three INTs against both of our BCS opponents. Penix has thrown for more interceptions against Iowa and Cincinnati this year than Ramsey did in the entire 2019 season. If Tuttle can come in and throw for 200 or so yards a game, complete 60+ percent of his passes, and keep his turnovers down, he’d be a big upgrade over what we’ve had so far.
